One of my bridesmaids and I just recently got back from ft Lauderdale. We were planning on having "one last hoorah" before the wedding. We will be coming back probably two more times before next march!! The junior suite we stayed in was modern, comfortable, & most importantly CLEAN! The housekeeper introduced herself to us the first day, she was so sweet. Cheryl was wonderful, she gave us great ideas for where we should dine and club. The rooftop was awesome for hanging out after we got home from the clubs and the pool was always clean. Alot of the rooms were occupied with long term stays because we stayed in the off season, but we made friends quickly and everyday we'd give and recieve hellos and good conversation. This will be the ONLY place I stay in ft Lauderdale from here on out. Perfect for a RELAXING girls week away! Also!! The pool music was great!!!! Thanks so much for having us, and give yourself a round of applause for your exemplary service

Positives: the staff was very accommodating and tried to fix any problem or issue that came up. The location was nice - just one block away from the beach... pretty quiet area.

Negatives: cockroach in room; the exhaust fan in the bathroom had a foul odor - so we never turned it on; walls were very thin; old structure - people upstairs were very noisy and we were up at 0300 due to their noise; although a non-smoking room, the neighbors were big smokers (outdoors), and we could not open our windows. Was supposed to be pet-free, but the neighbors had a dog? "B&B" - better buy your own breakfast unless you like sugar-coated, plastic wrapped danishes, etc.

Even that said, I would still recommend this place, because of the price and the proximity to the beach, attractions, etc. But you get what you pay for. I would probably go to a more upscale place next time (if I get back to that area).

Great location 1/2 block from the beach and their restaurant recommendation of Casa Blanca was spot on. Otherwise, a small, old beach hotel with packaged bagels for breakfast. Room was very small and not worth the price. As I said, "don't bother".

i just returned from staying at the granada inn- which i found though trip advisor and got a good rate through the website/calling. this area is really expensive and while we wanted to be near the beach we didn't want to spend a lot of money- this place was great. awesome location and perfectly adequate- especially if you don't want to deal with a major chain hotel. the hotel was exactly as i expected from the website and reviews and accurately represented. the room was nice complete with dvd & cd player. it was really convenient to have a fridge/microwave (we stayed in a small room) and while the bathrooms certainly aren't modern they are tiled with lots of hot water and nice smelling bath products. we also had free parking- which can cost a lot at other places- and the wifi worked great. they also let you use the computer/printer in the office. we spent 4 night and i would return.

the only thing lacking was the breakfast part- i wasn't intending to eat here in the morning so it didn't matter and it was nice to have juice/fruit/water but all the breakfast items are packaged- just fyi.

Great friendly service, great location. Beautiful rooms, gardens, atmosphere. Free parking, free breakfast, an amazing staff, very nice rooftop patio and inviting swimming pool. Rooms wonderfully equipped, beds very comfortable, cable TV and free wifi.
Inn keeper Cheryl is a treasure.

Lots of things said about The Granada Inn in these reviews are true, but what isn't said is where the problem lies and it's definitely NOT what we expected. It's true that the staff is very nice and accommodating. The location is great - a block from the Ft. Lauderdale beach and walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops (24-hour CVS about five blocks away). They even have a coin operated washer/dryer, which is a nice amenity that no one mentioned, but there's no detergent available for purchase.

This property could really be a gem if it was maintained a little better. However, the rooms are in bad need of updating/repair. The kitchenette had old cabinets, only one outlet (with five appliances), and the kitchen was very barely equipped. Bathroom was old with cracked & chipped tilework, no exhaust fan, needed repairs to walls/ceiling, and the only bathroom decor was border wallpaper that was barely hanging on the walls. A banged-up mirror was propped up against the wall in the hallway where there was one outlet (I don't believe there were any outlets in the bathroom). You could open window to vent the room after a shower, but there was no screen. The websites online pics display only the sleeping area; interestingly, the ONLY area of the suite that is updated.

Outside of the room, the cement grounds are cracked, chipped, worn and in bad need of painting/repair. Pools are kept clean but are extremely old and NOT HEATED - useless, because the pool water was frigid in December.

Towels were worn and rough, and the outside towel bin near pool (same worn, rough towels) was almost always completely empty.

Barring a major overhaul of the rooms and grounds, I wouldn't stay here again. Family and friends stayed at the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort (right next door), which was very nice, but we wanted a kitchenette since we were staying for a few days. In hindsight, I'd stay at the Westin and go out to eat.

Perfect Beach getaway,

Beautiful Flowers everywhere, rooms are old but have updated decor and are very clean.
Less than 1 block from the beach, towels and beach chairs provided free of charge, very friendly staff, two nice pools and best of all, secluded roof top lounge with outdoor beds and chairs for relaxing. We will be back again!
