We stayed at the Aqua Hotel for two days in February 2014 based on TA reviews. The hotel fully met our expectations, and we fully agree with the high ratings given on this boutique hotel situated just one block from the beach. We found our room to be very spacious, clean, and everything in tip top shape. A real highlight of our stay was Maggie, the hotel's manager during our stay. You will not find a more charming, helpful and friendly manager in the hotel industry. Every recommendation she gave us was spot on accurate. Although the hotel does not have a restaurant, there is no shortage of restaurants and Starbucks within easy walking distance. If you need a supermarket, liquor store, or mall, all can be found within a pleasant 15 minute walk. If you are looking for an intimate boutique hotel with very friendly staff, I doubt you will find a better one than the Aqua Hotel.

Room Tip: .We stayed on the second floor and it was quiet, but lack of an elevator might be a problem for some...

I am 62, so anyone younger than 40 looks like they are still in high school to me. I say that because this place appears to be run by 20-something's. And they are doing a fabulous job of it. I am PICKY; next to never give 5 stars. Service was awesome, really! They don't have a restaurant, but very graciously give you a map to the best places to eat on a budget. The hotel is set up so there are two pools. They have a gigantic Jenga set, a barbecue grill and lots of sunny nooks to lay out. They have folding chairs that you may take with you if you want to hang out on the beach about a block and a half away. I wanted to do something fun but not strenuous. They suggested I go take the Water Taxi tour. It was $22 but I had a great time seeing where the "pretty people" live. I was gone for several hours between a lovely Sunday brunch and doing the Water Taxi. I didn't want to go out for dinner, so Jodie helped me order a Pizza, and when the driver couldn't figure out the numbering system, she personally escorted him to my room. The space is very spare architecturally; probably built in the early 60s. The interior has been updated with insulated windows, new flooring and really nice bathroom appointments. I will upload some pictures I took of rm 2206. Second floor is not friendly for the differently abled. No loud partying, or boisterous behavior. I did not hear any street noise up in my second floor room. Amber and Eric were taking care of me like I was their long lost Aunt. There really is attention to personal service. The white and aqua interiors have a beach feel. Small but functional fridge, microwave, coffee pot for convenience. The breakfast table could just as easily be a temporary "office." Big picture windows in each suite. Iron, ironing board and luggage stand thoughtfully provided (Who the heck irons anymore?). It does not appear to have long term workers living there. It is a lovely spot for a family to stay in the area of the super rich but do so at sane prices. I booked via booking.com and got a few bux off. You might want to check it out. If you are more used to the Waldorf or a high end Hilton you would probably not be happy here. If you want someplace casual with good service, and a bit of a Danish modern feel (clean but plain lines), then I give my whole hearted recommendation to this hotel. The fancy and specialty hotels are all around if you want to upgrade to a $350/night room. But, this place is cozy, friendly, and really goes the extra mile to make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay.

brownthrasher,
If we could answer your review with a big hug, we would! Guests staying at Aqua, or any NBV property, really ARE family...so your feeling like a long lost Aunt is pretty much correct! Thank you so much for the extremely kind review. We really appreciate it and hope that you will stay with us whenever you're the Ft. Lauderdale Beach Area.

The staff was friendly and informative. Jody manager is the best, really made us feel at home. The room was bright and clean. The location was great, close to the beach, and all the activities. I truly feel my money was well spent.

Ultra clean and comfortable, staff excellent, nothing is too much trouble for them. Loved this place and would stay here again and have no hesitation recommending it. 100 yards from an excellent beach. They also have an associated restaurant called The Plaza Bistro which we ate at 2 out of the 3 nights we stayed here.

Guests staying at any North Beach Village property can take advantage of the numerous amenities that we have in the village. It doesn't get much better than that!

This is a fantastic boutique hotel. The staff, especially Gee was very helpful. We'll be back next time we are in Florida. Only two blocks from the ocean bit close to shopping. Rooms were very well decorated and comfortable.

Very nice small hotel is definitely worth the money. Good central location and at the same time quiet and peaceful. We only stayed here one night because we were way home to Sweden after a trip to Costa Rica. The girls at the reception were very service oriented and the owner can be proud of their way to take care of the guests!

Maggie, the manager is the best. She is a great representative for the property. She was so friendly when she greeted us. She was the front desk and bell hop person. The property is very clean as is the rooms. We had a small studio, which was pretty small though. Beds were a little soft for my taste. Very close to the beach. The property had two nice clean pools. I thought the room was a little pricey when I booked it, but after meeting Maggie, it was well worth it. We had a late flight out of Fort Lauderdale, all the rooms were booked, but Maggie let us relax by the pool till we had to go to the airport. I come back anytime.
