My husband and I were so impressed by this hotel, we will be telling all of our friends about it from here in Naples! The staff is so friendly and accomodating, it was immediately a stress free atmosphere. Claire made me feel upon check in as though she had been waiting for our arrival. She had a folder prepared for us including an illustrated map of the whole immediate area. She was the kind of employee that every hotel should have! Our room was a suite off of the pool on the ground floor. The lush gardens surrounding the hotel were gorgeous.. huge, blossomed rose bushes greeted us as we walked through the garden to get to our doorway. A fully use ready kitchen welcomed us. Equipped with stainless steel pots, plates, bowls, and utensils. A quarter size refigerater, and a 2 burner glass top stove. We were super impressed by the room! Impeccably clean, lavishly modern decor, and glass french doors leading to the cascading pool outside. The bed was memory foam like, which we slept on like logs..water pressure in the shower is fantastic.. A closet off of the room made an excellent storage area for our luggage. Room was so soundproof I had to be in the same part of the room as my husband in the hotel to hear him. We felt when we closed the curtains as though we had escaped from the hustle and bustle of the outside world! I stopped by the office to locate some of the amenities (ice, and whatnot) Denise from the front desk was so great. She not only offered us access to the location of ice, but let me help myself to an array of beach necessities such as sunblock, boogie boards, sand toys, beach blankets and chairs! For free! Not only did she get us great parking spots for our day of fun in the sun, but, she personally walked me to my car to help me load up the trunk! I feel like a million dollars thanks to this hotel and it's wonderful staff.

We spent 4 nights here over St. Patrick's weekend, and are so happy we discovered this great hotel! Just a short walking distance from the beach, but tucked away from all the crowd and noise. Place looks great and we LOVED our room. Very tasty decorated and clean (housekeeping is doing outstanding job) with a nice pool view.
There is a really good restaurant nearby where we had our lunch, also part of North Beach Village as this hotel. From what I could see, they are all working hard and it seems this place will only look better next time we come to stay here, and we definitely will :)

Room Tip: We got a second floor room as we kinda booked last minute and it was only one left available, but for next time we definitely want to get one of ground level pool side rooms

My husband and I were looking for last minute accomodations to the Ft. Lauderdale area for a trip to see family during a usually very booked up President's Day week and a VERY frigid winter! My sister happened to catch something called North Beach Village. It is a collection of newly renovated small motels and hotels in the Fort Lauderdale beach area, near the Bonnet House, Sunrise Boulevard, and Beach Place. There are a number of properties, but only the Tara was available. It was a quaint very small planation home style building (only 11 rooms) with retro decorations in our room. The neighborhood was very quiet and we were able to watch the boats go by and the beautiful sunset over the intercoastal from our room balcony. The room was clean and daily cleaning service was available. The tile floors made it feel cleaner. :) There was a grill available on site, which we took advantage of one evening. The bathroom, while clean, should have a better spring bar for the shower curtain and the window coating was peeling off(good thing in was only overlooking our own balcony!). The room was a nice size with a medium sized refrigerator/freezer. Parking was free and even guests who were just staying for the day could also park for free. The pool area was quiet and clean. We usually had it all to ourselves! The beach and favorite restaurants (i.e. Casablanca and other swanky newer ones) were only a 5-10 minute walk. A Publix supermarket is very conveniently located on Sunrise. You COULD stay here without a car, although we had one. There were other North Village properties within walking distance and we were allowed access to all of the pools. There is no office on site so we needed to check in at another one of their properties a block away. The staff was very friendly and helpful. All in all, I would recommend this hotel group if you are NOT looking for all the bells and whistles but just need a clean, quaint, and very conveniently located place to stay in Fort Lauderdale. We would recommend this place and would stay again, maybe even try one of the other properties. An unexpected gem! Just FYI - some of the properties cater more to the gay community, so, you may or may not want to ask for "family friendly" properties only for your stay. Also note: No elevators to the 2nd floor at this property.

Room Tip: Ask for a 2nd floor overlooking the intercoastal.

We arrived in FL after a road trip to the keyes with no hotel reservations- our initial plan was to find a hotel on the beach- everything under $200 was disgusting, big hotels just seemed so crowded...We had stayed at a sister property- the cocobelle at the beginning of our trip and went back there, the office was great and searched all of the properties and held the room at Tara for us, at that point we didn't really care what we got and were very happy with the studio room in this small well kept motel (hotel?). only 11 units, quiet and clean- ok the floor could have been cleaner and the bathroom is small but we had a wonderful 2 nights - walking distance to good food and the beach, 4 loungers at the pool and a private BBQ area in the back. On departure day we had a one hour late check-out and since our plane didn't leave until 6:30 pm we packed our car, hung out by the pool, went to the beach and snacked at the BBQ area in the afternoon- we didn't ask, but noone seemed to care! I actually prefer this location to the Cocobelle simply because it is a few blocks closer to restaurant areas and has a canal view across the street from the pool- fun to watch all the mega-yachts go by.

Room Tip: Thin walls so I hope you don't have noisy neighbors! the rooms with balcony's to the pool area looked great!
