We stayed here 3 nights. We thought it was better then the pictures made it look. Nice walk to the beach and state park. Internet only available in office until 5pm or in the pool area. Our room was close to pool but the connection wasn't great. Older building with cheaper renovations. I felt safe here.

The place was clean and well maintained. We had a bedroom, 2 bathrooms, living room with pullout sofa, full kitchen with all the pots & pans, utensils, coffee pot, microwave, stove, etc. Cooked breakfast each morning before heading to the beach and/or pool. Grounds were nice, with one of the nicest pools I’ve been in.
Nice short block and half walk to the ocean. We enjoyed the neighborhood with good restaurants, bars, beach shops, a state park across the road, and the Bonnet House down the street. Also had a convenient 7-Eleven store next door. The main Ft. Lauderdale beach is just down the road.. All-in-all the Coconut Bay Resort was extremely pleasant with friendly staff. We will stay there again

We were a bit apprehensive about booking this resort after reading some reviews but decided to anyway as we wanted to stay Wed-Wed and they could accomodate us. Our home resort is Palm Beach Shores which is extremely nice with lots of amenities. The Coconut Bay Resort lacked most of those except for a pool and hot tub; they're adding wireless internet access throughout the resort but for now it's only available in/near the office and pool. We didn't book this resort for the amenities, we booked it because we wanted to be near the beach and Ft. Lauderdale activities, which it is. We had a small one bedroom which was OK for 2 adults. Unlike other reviewers, our bed was extremely comfortable; the kitchen, bathroom, and living area were clean and adequate for our week's stay. We enjoyed the neighborhood -- good restaurants, a couple of beach shops, a great state park across the road w/ walking/hiking/biking/canoeing, and the Bonnet House next door. Some people w/ kids might not like the neighborhood bars and tattoo shops; we checked them out and the people were very friendly. The main Ft. Lauderdale beach w/ ocean-front shopping was an enjoyable walk (or short drive) down the road. There's also a very economical car rental company literally across the parking lot (and through the hedge) which made renting and returning the car VERY easy. They also picked us up and returned us to the airport. All-in-all the Coconut Bay Resort was extremely pleasant w/ very friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely stay there again.

We stayed here as an RCI trade week. We paid good money for our home timeshare in Mexico, which has luxurious accomodations and excellent service. Unfortunately, every time we've traded for other resorts, we've been disappointed. This resort was clean, but hasn't had a facelift in years. Think 1970 beach chic. The beds were horrible! I phoned down to the desk during office hours to ask for a foam mattress topper (all of the resorts in Mexico carry them). No one answered, so I left a voicemail, which was never returned. When I checked out, the woman at the office told me they didn't have mattress toppers, but no one ever called to let me know.

This is a warning to folks thinking of buying timeshares. Make sure that you can trade into resorts as nice as you are buying! For those thinking of staying at Coconut Bay, the only nice thing we can recommend is that it has a beautiful state park right across the block.

Not one of the nicest Timeshare accommodations we have stayed in. The room we had was to sleep 4 which consisted of a pull-out sofa bed in the front room and a very large bedroom with double bed. The only shower was the one located in the bedroom on-suite so it was ok for a family but may be a little awkward for two couples.

When we arrived we were early, whilst our room was not available the receptionists kindly gave us pool towels and allowed us to use the facilities whilst we waited. We did have a major problem with the sofa bed, the matress was so old is was lumpy and very uncomfortable, when we complained at reception a new one was brought up within 1/2 hr. The layout of the complex is much like a motel, and there seem to be a few permanent residents. This is certainly not middle class, without sounding snobby, but the clientelle were somewhat dubious.

The location is perfect, just off the beach, and opposite the park, the pool is small but clean and the appartments are clean if somewhat faded, chipped paint and scuffed furniture. One off-putting thing is the long list of do's and dont's you receive when you check-in and how failure to check out on time will cost $20 per 1/2 hr, failure to return all keys will cost $20 each, failure to strip your own bedding before you leave will cost $20!

All in all a mixed bag.

The timeshare was clean and well maintained. Nice short block and half walk to Atlantic ocean. Very limited chanel selection on tv's. The most disappointing part of this timeshare was the king size bed was well past it's usefull life. The bed was so bad that I dreaded going to bed. I got a back ache from it, I still haven't recovered from. I even went to Walmart and bought a soft bed cover to get relief. The bath was substandard as well.
