“pricey but good sushi!!!”
Reviewed 29 May 2014 via mobile

About the quality of the sushi is only one thing to say: "it is very good" but it is also very expensive for the servings you get. the staff is very friendly and helpful, something you can't say about the grumpy owner/manager. The location on the seafront next to the beach could not be better in Fort Lauderdale.

“Okay but a little pricey”
Reviewed 19 May 2014 via mobile

My wife and I stopped here for dinner. The waiter was very nice although a little slow. I had the ribs (fabulous) and the satay (a waste of stomach space). The sauce for the satay had so much salt it was inedible. My wife had the shrimp which she really liked. Pretty good martinis and the beer selection was ok. My wife had the chocolate cake for dessert and was unimpressed. Overall, it was ok. I'd go back for the ribs; the rest was not that great. Also beware; they add a tip to the bill...so take that into account when you pay.

“Sushi with excitement and an ocean view!”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

For the past several years we watched the space (formerly occupied by beach shops and barely legal-age watering holes) SLOWLY build. I found out it was open from a local TV station's news feature. I made note of some of the things they said try and we set off for Tsukuro. I loved it. We sat at the bar- best view of the ocean- and had some very creative drinks. The bartenders (2 dark haired girls) couldn't have been friendlier. We saw them making 2-for-1 drinks being ushered outside at a frienzed pace by the waitstaff. Guess they have to keep up with the Jones' and offer the GIANT drinks like all the other al fresco restaurants along the Lauderdale strip do for happy hour. It's not a negative, but I was just a little worried that was a signal that average was about to happen. We ordered the Edamame's- loved the oil on them. Follow-up with the Oxtail Spring Rolls (OMG!), some Uni sushi (very fresh) and then the Kataifi Shrimp. The shrimp was wrapped in a "birds nest" on a stick and came with a curry cream sauce I couldn't stop scooping up long after the shrimp was gone. We saw someone get a whole fried fish and we had order envy. We wanted to eat more but we will have to come back hungry and with lots of friends. I want a small bite of EVERYTHING! The atmosphere was asian fun and funky. We left before dark, so I hope it has cool lighting at night, we'll see. Along with S3 it's elevated the oceanfront restaurant scene in Fort Lauderdale. It's really close to Beach Place too, so there's lots to do before or after dinner/lunch. Tsukuro gets a big yes from me.

“terribly unimpressive”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

stopped in for a quick bite and drink our first night in town. Alot of positive sushi comments but we had the chinese chicken salad, 3 drinks and couldn't wait to get out of there. Of all the places on A1A stip this was the least crowded that night and whenever we walked by.

Pretty expensive place as well. Not one we'll go back to upon our return to Fort Lauderdale.

“Outstanding ribs and sushi”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

We just wanted a small meal while we were out at the beach and stumbled across this restaurant. We both love sushi so figured we should try some in Florida while we were there. The waiter told us that we should not pass up the ribs so we got the Eel roll and the short ribs and it was perfect. The roll was tasty and crunchy and the ribs were so tender we could eat them with chopsticks as well. So so good, stop in if you get a chance.
