“THE place to stay on the beach if you can”
Reviewed 22 November 2011

Just returned from a stay at the Ritz on the beach, having stayed the previous 7 nights next door at a great timeshare resort. The Ritz is in a great location, across from the beach, with a porch that allows for comfortable people watching! The bar staff is outstanding! Always there with a snack or another cocktail. We actually made it a daily ritual to stop there for late afternoon cocktails. A little pricey but worth it. Our room was oceanfront and very luxurious. The staff is very helpful and keeping with the Ritz tradition, always calls you by name. I cannot wait for my next visit to this outstanding resort. The manager here has done a great job training this very capable staff!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are good, if you do not get an oceanfront, the rear of the building looks out over...

Weekend escape! We felt spoiled and pampered. The hotel is beautifully maintained. International clientele. I loved the pool area and the beach. Our room was well-kept and private.

Nice hotel on the ocean. Beautiful room and bathroom. Via Luna restaurant was great for dinner and typical for breakfast. Definitely nice ... but what you would expect for price.

We booked this hotel for 3 nights after a cruise.
I have stayed in many first class hotels over the years and this one did not disappoint.
The hotel itself is very bright and modern and extremely clean, we booked two rooms and both were to a very high standard although one had a much better bathroom than the other.
Both rooms were large, very clean and inviting. The bathroom was very large and had a great bath and shower. The room control system was great for us but I can see older people struggling with the touch screen system. We had a great view of the waterway and unlike another hotel we stayed in the glass on the balcony door was so thick that we were not disturbed at night by the noise from the boats.
The bed was massive and very comfortable, probably the best 3 nights sleep we had during the whole trip!!

The best asset of this hotel is definitely it's staff, all we met were very friendly, accommodating and professional; especially the door staff who were top-notch.
We were travelling with my elderly parents and the front desk allowed them to keep their room past check-out so that they did not have to sit around for hours before their flight which was excellent. We turned up very early for check in and despite a bit of a wait for the rooms to be cleaned the front desk staff still managed to get us into our rooms a few hours early - which was great.
The staff around the pool are attentive, I noticed another post on here stated that there seemed to be a lot of staff by the pool not doing anything, which is not necessarily true, I think they have provided enough staff to provide consistent service when it is busy which means when it is quiet they may seem a little over staffed. Regardless, the staff sort out the towels on the lounger for you, provide free iced water throughout the day and even come around to clean your sunglasses for you!! I didn't have to wait long to ask for a menu or order drinks from the bar and when we ordered food it turned up very quickly.
We had breakfast at the hotel, lunch by the pool and used the bar; the drinks and food are expensive but they are on average with the other hotels and restaurants in the area (my family stayed in 3 hotels on the same road) so I would not say they were overpriced. They are very generous with the portion sizes too so you don't feel like you are being ripped off.
The hotel itself is quite expensive in comparison to other hotels in the area but you get what you pay for and I would happily use this hotel again.

Room Tip: All of the rooms have balconies, with either a view over the sea or a view over the waterway at the...

Wonderful hotel with the best of everything, large rooms with beautiful views, staff is incredible helpful and very nice. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and was very well taken care of. William and Herman was the best.
This was our birthday trip and after check in we received a beautiful chocolate cake to our room, very nice gesture.
Cant wait for our next visit.

Don't get me wrong, this is a top notch hotel. The facilities, what they offer, the food, everything is good. But they need to work on pulling it all together in a more consistent sense of professional delivery. For example, sit in the pool area. There are dozens of staff walking around, but very few are doing anything. Poolside waitresses (even though they are numerous) take a really long time to come over to take a drink order or offer refills. That is below Ritz quality. A lot of staff seem "out of it" and in a daze- including one of the bell guys who wasn't looking while pushing a cart and almost ran over my kid in the lobby. On the positive side, the main restaurant is excellent. The meeting facilities are excellent. The rooms are average size- the ones poolside are the best. Outdoor pool bar is very nice, even serving ice cream cones to kids, with the kids activities. Overall, I wouldn't spend the money here until they get the entire property up to the Ritz level of service- mainly staff-service levels. They are getting there, but not during this stay.

Room Tip: Pool level with glass door that opens to pool.

The Ritz is located right on A1A, has great views of the ocean and intrercoastal waterway. The pool is set so that you look right out at the Atlantic. Food/Bar at the pool has nice choices. There is an elevator to beach walkway and the street right at the pool. Rooms are clean and comfy. Staff is nice and all in all a great place to stay.
