“Lovely Ritz Carlton”
Reviewed 2 November 2013 via mobile

What's not to like about the Ritz? The hotel is perfect for the business traveler. I was there for a conference and found the food to be very good (though not as good as the ritz in half
Moon bay, CA), the rooms spacious and well appointed and the staff helpful.

stayed at the ritz carlton, ft lauderdale for 2 nights for a mini vacation... the hotel is in a great location and is the staff make this hotel fantastic..
the hotel itself is very nice and we were upgraded to an ocean view room ( 908) it is a great corner room with a balcony that is wraparound, and has a beautiful view of the beach and the Atlantic Ocean ..
the only problem with the room is the light wood floors had a lot of marks and make it appear dirty though the bellman told me it was someone's high heels and they cant get the marks off the floor..
we used the pool and the beach and both were well staffed and very nice..
the staff is so friendly and if i go back to ft. lauderdale i would stay here..

Room Tip: ask for an ocean view, we were on the 9th floor and didn't hear the street traffic..

I am never disappointed by the Ritz group. The Ft Lauderdale hotel is fantastic, every room has a view of the pool and the beach.
The rooms are enormous and luxurious.
The pool area is excellent and everyone is pampered by the staff.
Try the brunch which is delicious and overlooks the beach.

Room Tip: Any room is great, but try for the highest

With a direct flight from Pittsburgh, Fort Lauderdale is a good choice for a quick getaway for us. We have always stayed at the Ritz, and for good reason. The resort itself is beautiful -- modern, clean and classy. But the attention to customer delight is why we keep coming back. It's amazing how they remember guests year after year (one of the bartenders remembered my wife's last haircut!). Speaking of bartenders, Scott and Richard are great, and go out of their way to make your bar experience a step above. One item of note: try to get a room on a high floor if possible, not only for the view, but to get out of range of the HVAC noise. We highly recommend the Ritz Carlton in Fort Lauderdale.

Room Tip: High floor to avoid HVAC noise.

Since the hey day of Bahia Mar and Lago Mar, then Pier 66, Ft Lauderdale has lacked a place with Class. No longer, though it has been open sinCE 2008 and I just never tried it as
Originally built and opened as a St Regis, but converted to a Ritz shortly after it opened this hotel/condo is a well designed and managed property on the beach best known for the spring break parties featured in “Where the Boys Are” and the classless mayhem that annually ensued.
The surrounding area is newer than in those days but still it is still tacky.
Maybe it is because it was originally built as a St Regis the lobby has the clean, modern. Sleek flair of a St Regis and the decor is carried throughout.
(I have newer been a fan of the Ritz wood and blue glass stuffy décor).
The staff from their greeting us at the entrance through check-in and our entire stay put was combined friendliness with professionalism. The staff is obviously well trained and well managed. Like the décor, management appeared to be friendlier than a normal Ritz.
The rooms were right-sized, pleasantly decorated and the view of the pool, the beach and the sea beyond was expansive.
The 7th floor pool are has a coveted over A1A bridge connecting to the beach over the street, not through the lobby. Only the owners of the old Yankee Clipper group had managed to get a similar bridge, which enhances the location of the hotel.
The gym overlooks the intra-coastal was well equipped.
Drinks on the terrace on A1A was lively and the food was generally good.
All in all The Ritz Ft Lauderdale is attractive enough to make having to be in Ft Lauderdale no longer a hardship.

We stayed here for one night during my friend's wedding at the hotel. The standard room was a nice size room and so clean. The staff was very accommodating as we had a special request since my wife is nursing and they took care of it with no problem. We don't live far from the hotel but would definitely go back. Its right on the beach and great location.

I had to stay in Ft Lauderdale and was pleasantly surprised. I travel a great deal to Europe and Asia and only stay at the top hotels. I was not expecting much here. Therefore I was pleased to see how well run it is. The beach and pool area is fine. What I was surprised is how good the restaurant was. The Chef really knew his cooking. We ate there twice. As I had just been at Villa D'Este and the Ritz in Madrid and on way to Four Seasons Hong Kong. I just thought I would get through the 3 days. My surprise how much I enjoyed it
