“A truly fantastic hotel”
Reviewed 10 February 2014 via mobile

We stayed here for my birthday weekend . Everything is fantastic about this hotel. The rooms are very nice, big, & facing the beach. The staff is friendly and could not be more helpful. This is a model for all luxury hotel. We will be back.

I stayed here for a week while attending a business meeting in the hotel. The location is great - right on the beach and within easy walking distance of many bars and restaurants. The room I had was fantastic - really spacious, nicely furnished, huge bathroom, big flat-screen TV, and a view over the ocean. I can honestly say it's one of the nicest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. The meeting facilities were very good and the hotel staff were helpful when we needed extra support. The bar is nothing special, I didn't try the restaurant but it looked too fancy for my taste. The general area is clearly popular with spring breakers, which generates a rather debauched atmosphere in the surrounding streets and bars, which is not exactly family friendly. But, overall a very nice hotel experience.

We stayed for 2 nights prior to a conference in Miami. Absolutely incredible service. Must commend Jess who provided a level of service at the pool above and beyond. Ft. Lauderdale is noisy and guests on adjoining lanais calling down to friends at the pool was a bit disconcerting. Club room was terrific, great food, wonderful people. Will definitely stay again.

Upon arrival, Robert, the bell captain greeted us by name at the taxi. Megan at the front desk made sure our accommodation was comfortable. The staff on the club floor treated us as though we were frequent guests even though it was our first visit to the property. My only critique would be is that the furniture on the balcony needs to be changed, would suggest it be replaced with non-wood material.

Stayed for five nights in late January 2014. Hotel is exceptionally located and, for the most part, has nice facilities. The health club located on the 8th floor is not staffed and the equipment could be updated. Towels placed in a refrigerator that is turned off? No cold water provided? Most troubling about the stay was the lack of turn-down service that is usually typcialy of Ritz hotels. Had to call the first night to request the service and was told "the turn down service was not provided on the first night" - even though we had been in room since 3 pm, after cruise travel, trash cans were full, no towels, no ice. Seemed like this was an imposition for the personnel. First night room rate didn't reflect this lack of the service. This was not something I have ever experienced in a Ritz Carlton in US or International. When the room was serviced in the evenings, trash was not emptied, no ice was provided, even when requested on numerous occasions. Don't bother tipping, that didn't help. Had to call one day after 3 pm to have room serviced only to be told that the focus was on check outs - sounded more like a Marriott that Ritz. Asprey shampoo and soaps were wonderful. Club level staff on 8th floor were exceptional-very helpful. Did not use either restaurant, spa or room service- had access to club level facilities, food and beverages in club were good.

Room Tip: Ocean front rooms ending in 12 have floor-to-ceiling windows on side and nice balconies and directly...

Beautiful Lobby & Lounge. Calamari, Flatbread, beef sliders we very well prepared and presented perfectly by the exceptional staff. We visited for a business meeting & late lunch. The Ritz Carlton Lobby Lounge was exceptional for both & most convenient too just a 2-3 mlnute walk across the street form the Marriott BeachPlace Towers.
