“First time visit - loved the resort!”
Reviewed 28 March 2014

My husband and I stayed at The Alcazar Resort March 18-20 and absolutely loved it. Upon arrival the staff was very welcoming and gave us a tour of the resort. Our room was spacious and furnished very nicely. The resort is located in a great part of Ft. Lauderdale, only 2 blocks from the beach, and a very short drive from what is one of the most well known gay cities in America, Wilton Manors.

First time my husband and I had been there. Was very surprised how friendly and laid back it was. Just what we was looking for. We will visit again. The breakfast was great. Three blocks from the beach with plenty of choices for eating. At the price we paid a bargain for sure.

From the minute we stepped in to the complex, this place exceeded our expectations beyond anything we ever imagined. Staff was friendly, helpful and gave us every freedom you could want- the room was perfect, and the 24 hr pools and hot tubs were amazing...cant wait to go back- you will definitely have a beautiful stay!

This was my first visit to the Alcazar/Worthington complex. It came highly recommended by friends that stayed there in the past. My first stay will certainly NOT BE my last. The complex of 3 resorts did not fail to live up to my standards. A very clean, well maintained resort of the highest caliber of other resorts in the Birch road area. You have a choice to book 1 of 3 resort properties, but have the 100% use of all 3 pools and hot tubs. Extremely friendly staff is there almost 24/7 to handle any needs that arise. A housekeeping staff that is the best, bar none. Cleaning, up keeping, landscape maintenance is continually throughout the day, every day. Great beds, linens, and pillows. A breakfast selection to meet all your morning wake up needs enjoyed poolside or in your room. The Saturday afternoon poolside party is a complimentary full service bar, drinks and lite appetizers and DJ. A great way to further socialize with an already friendly crowd of guests and staff. I will look forward to returning many times in the future. Jim and Rick were so helpful during my stay, but that is not to leave out other that were helpful but their names escape me. If you stay here and don't have a good time ... it's not the Worthington/Alcazar/Villa Venice fault.

Room Tip: Use the property map on line to select a room. Some are pool side some are not. Depending on your ne...

We stayed at the Alcazar over New Years and had a great time. As most reviews have already hit on the availabilities of the property along with The Worthington and Villa Venice (which are joined together to form one large resort), I will focus on our experiences.
1) The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. Housekeeping does a great job maintaining the rooms and always seem to smile and greet you when you pass by. The front desk staff are very outgoing and try to accommodate you with anything you may need.
3) The property can have a lively atmosphere during the day and early evening but seems to quiet down considerably after 9 or 10pm, later on the weekends. The Worthington tends to have more activity at the pool area, Villa Venice tends to be where groups sit around talking and Alcazar tends to be very quiet after the sun goes down.
4) The property is very nice and well maintained. Great landscaping, rooms are large and well maintained, and the pool/hot tub areas are clean with plenty of space to soak up the sun. My only complaint is the amount of chlorine in the hot tubs but I guess that can't be helped. Just remember to shower after or the chlorine will dry your skin out so bad it will itch for days. My mistake, lesson learned.
5) In my opinion, the best part of the trip was the other guests. There is very little attitude and almost everyone there just wants to have a great time. Don't hesitate to make conversation with anyone you meet. I left at the end of the week with new friends from Florida to Chicago and even France and Switzerland.
6) Depending on what you are expecting will depend on the outcome of your trip. If you are going to have a good time, meet new people, enjoy the sunshine, revel in your nakedness and the nakedness of others then don't hesitate to stay here. If you are looking for a quiet, low key atmosphere and tend to shy away from certain activities, then you may want to look elsewhere.

Room Tip: Worthington has more action during the evening because of the hot tub. Villa Venice has a hot tub bu...

The Worthington-Acazar-Venice is by far the best Gay hotel in Ft Lauderdale ! We booked our 3rd year 11 night stay in room 103 at the Alcazar with our 2 little dogs before we departed this year ! We have traveled many places and stayed at many different types and levels of properties and this is just all around the best! The owner Jim is there everyday and is very much involved in the operation of his business. Jim's entire staff does an excellent job, very professional and friendly. The guests were great, we met some great guys and some of them plan to be there at the same time next year!

From the minute we checked in to the moment we left we felt special and well looked after. To say we had a great time is an understanding. People actually talk to each other. No attitude here, just nice guys. Can't wait to come back .
