Bed was harder than sleeping on the floor. Perhaps we got a room that had not been updated. We booked with Continental Vacations. Other people raved about their rooms and beds. We were stuck in last room at end of hall. Maybe reserved for those who book economy. Other than the brick bed... enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Ask for an updated room!

Arrived late for a five day beach vacation and got a cramped room right by the pool. Next morning we asked for something as far away as possible from the pool with all the kids and action. No problem, we we're moved to the rear top floor (5th) facing the neighboring Sheraton where the room was bigger and brighter and totally quiet. All the rooms we saw appeared to have been recently renovated, were very pleasant, and a couple of cuts above the usual Best Westerns. The included breakfast was a little better than what is usually on offer at this category of hotel. Also, adding to the experience, the ladies at the reception were always extremely accommodating and friendly. You can also avail yourself to the beach/pool restaurant for lunch and drinks at the neighboring Sheraton, a little pricey but worth it.
With its location just a few steps from a great wide beach, and within 10 min. walking distance from shops and restaurants, I found this Best Western a very good value and would go back.

Room Tip: Try for a room on 4th or 5th floor. 3rd floor seems to be dedicated to families with kids and teenag...

Almost missed this hotel completely. It has been swallowed up by the Sheraton and Marriott that it sits between. Stayed here for the first part of our vacation and was happy with the staff. Buffet style breakfast was good. Not impressed with the limited parking that we had to pay $10 for! Room was cramped and dated and the bathtub did not drain well..... YUCK! Wireless internet was hit & miss :(

We stayed at this hotel after our cruise. A cab to the hotel was around $12 for the 2 of us and we arrived around 10 am, much to early to check in! However, the man at the front seemed to expect us, and helped us in with our baggage which he locked up right away for us after we got a few things we needed to while away the morning. This hotel is steps away from the beach, and so we wandered down the strip taking in the views and shops along the way. We came back at nearly 2pm but our room we requested was not yet ready and so we waited another hour and a half in the lobby (we were very tired) until we saw others starting to get checked in.
Finally our room was ready and we were placed up on the fifth floor in room 521 a king room with a little balcony and a small view of the beach. The room was spacious and clean and had quality linens on the bed. We elected to have a simple dinner at the bar in the hotel, as we were tired from the cruise. The food was okay, just burgers and a bag of chips (no fries here) and a mandatory surcharge of 18% on top of all food orders! This was not a four star restaurant and so we felt that was really over the top. Our happy hour drinks were $1 off the already overpriced bar set, so our seemingly inexpensive meal turned out not to be, and so if we returned to this hotel we would not patronize the bar again.
A nice feature of the hotel is complimentary internet use. The front desk allowed us to print out our boarding passes for free, even though the sign said 25 cents per page. She said 2 or 3 pages is fine, they just don't want people printing out 10 page documents all the time.
In the morning we had to leave the hotel very early at 4am and so we did not partake of the complimentary breakfast. We set up a wakeup call even though there was a clock radio in the room (just to be sure!) The girl at the desk called a cab that was there in less than 5 minutes and had us whisked off to the airport. The cab ride including tip was $20. We would stay here again as it was close to the beach and cruise ship terminal.

Stayed here before heading out on a cruise. We arrived early, so they took and secured our luggage while we walked to Ft Lauderdale. When we got back the room still was not ready. To make up for this, they put us into a suite. Very nice room. Will come back when in the area for another night before or after a cruise.

Friendely reception,we were able to get our rooms.
The room was regulary, clean. From our room we dit not have a nice vieuw, we looked at another building and just right of our balcony we were able to see a little bit of the ocean and the beach... well it was OK.
The breakfast was good despite of the very busy setting( young people, swimmers we suppose because of the very near swemacademy) we dit not have to wait and every thing was fresh and nice food.
The hotel is nearby a bus stop line 40 which you can take to go to las OlaS Blvd or the Gallerymall for instance, also the beach and the WaterTaxi is very nearby.
We had a nice time at the Best Western and we recommend it for people how need a precruise accomodation

First off, I actually was there in May 2010, not August. The hotel itself is decent for the price we paid ($99/night total for 3 people). Since we arrived by plane and didn't have a car, I can't speak for parking. If you plan to be a beach bum and need to travel cheap (which is what we did), then this is a good place for sure. If you're looking for something luxurious, don't go here.

Rooms were clean and well-kept. Our room was very quiet; I never heard a peep. There was a safe and a fridge there, too. The breakfast was pretty good, and they had a neat little bar and pool area to hang out in as well. The beach is very close, and it's an amazingly beautiful beach. It was not at all crowded, and when combined with the cityscape on either side it is just breathtaking. Nearby hotels have spas and water sports centers that you can take advantage of to mix things up. We walked to Los Olas, shopping, restaurants, and places for parties without a problem, but it's not that close. For those don't want to walk, there's a free or 50 cent trolley: http://www.suntrolley.com/Guide/#4

People recommended the water taxi, but we didn't have time for it. There aren't many great party places nearby, but there were some nice restaurants. We liked Spazio; the pizza was good there, they had some live Cuban music and dancing the night we went, and they had giant Margaritas on sale. Try the Spazio pizza; you'll love it. Though party places aren't so close by, there is a place called Hard Rock that is about 25 minutes drive away. You can take a taxi for about $30, and split the costs. Hard Rock has a huge casino complete with several clubs for young people, shopping, restaurants, and of course gambling. I never would have thought it would be so much fun, but I had a blast. We accidentally ended up there after telling a taxi driver to take us to a good place, and we didn't regret it!
