Description: We at POMPERDALE DELI recognize the need to continue the tradition of keeping the DELICATESSEN alive. From generation to generation, corned beef/pastrami sandwiches piled high on delicious rye bread coupled with a simmering bowl of matzo ball soup have been enjoyed by people from all hemispheres. The experience of dining in a deli like this is not only a haven for foodies, but a step back into time when people would gather, waiting in line, conversing with other patrons as though they were long lost friends.

If you miss the deli experience you were used to getting in NYC, you can still find it here. Great sandwiches, knishes, etc! They also deliver!

“Not great this time”
Reviewed 17 February 2014

I have been to this location several times for lunch and had always enjoyed it. Thought we would try it for breakfast. Waited 30 minutes for a cheese omlet and potato pancakes. When asked why it was taking so long, we were told we got hit with a big take out order. No apology and a bit of an attitude when we asked for sour cream (which we should have gotten with the potato pancakes to begin with) Will chalk up this experience to just having a bad day on a holiday weekend. Will try again but only for lunch.

Reviewed 4 February 2014 via mobile

Excellent New York Style Deli, food served, has the hot pastrami on rye, cole slaw, and an order of potato pancake, with sour cream and apple sauce.
Also
Dr. Brown black cherry soda, brought memories of when I lived in NY city.

Friendly service NY style, in a clean busy restaurant. All foods were served at the correct temperature.

“What a Zoo!!!!”
Reviewed 1 January 2014

Horrible experience.....there are only a few tables and many selfish people. There was a table for one that was unused while a single guy sat at the next table which was for two. There was a table for three where two women used the third chair for their purse....there was a line of people, some of whom weighed about 400+ pounds....a warning sign here people.....ordering tons of fatty foods. You give your order and wait for them to shout your name. They never shouted ours and people who came in after us got their orders and left. When we inquired they said they did not have a record of our order...it was lost! I asked for our money back...turns out some other guy took our bag of food....but this could happen easily with this crappy system they have. In fact...if you want free food just go wait to hear them call any name and then grab the bag and leave. No one will know. Why not have a system where they give you a chit with your name and order on it....matching the order...and someone takes your slip, looks to see that it matches...and then hands you the bag?? Are they trying to take tons of cash that they do not declare for taxes??? Not worth the hassle here.

“Halvah is excellent!”
Reviewed 19 November 2013

I was driving through on the interstate and knew I wanted to try the food. We got to the restaurant about 25 minutes before close. Rather than being short with us they were friendly as can be. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. Had some amazing homemade halvah. Good corned beef and homemade soup.
