“Not a positive experience”
Reviewed 6 July 2009

Stayed here on the second leg of a business trip and it was a pretty awful experience. We were forced to stay here due to an event in Miami that sold out most of the hotels in that area, and we wanted to stay beachfront in Fort Lauderdale. Boy did we make a mistake. Rooms/corridors were older and the carpets were pretty dirty. Our room had a view of the roof of the hotel which was filled with garbage. The pool area was about the only area of the whole place that was nice, but it was ruined by some rowdy guests who were drinking beer out of thermoses. The beach was small in front of the hotel, and in order to get a chair you needed to rent one from the hotel. In fact, you have to pay for almost everything here, from internet access to chairs by the pool. The best moment of the whole trip was when we went out to our rental car before we went to our meeting and a prostitute offered her services right in the hotel parking lot, who told us she frequents the hotel pool looking for customers and no one has ever chased her away! If this sounds like you're kinda place then go ahead but there are much nicer hotels in the area for a similar price.

We did Hotwire, which doesn't tell you the name of the resort until you book. We found a $62 a night, beachfront 3 star hotel, and booked it, and this was it!

The location is excellent! It has a decent pool, although the patio stones get burning hot, but the beach is very close, which is nice. It's much cooler down there. You do have to pay to use the beach chairs and/or umbrellas, so plan ahead. If you use the hotel's towels, you have to show them a paper you get at check in, and turn them in by 6pm daily or you get charged $10 each.

The pool elevator was broken 3 of the 4 days we were there. I don't recommend trying it, as we got stuck in it for about 5 minutes, and when it's 90 outside, and the elevator isn't air conditioned, it gets HOT!

The rooms were clean, and the fridge large and cold. The patio, although not private, was not loud or busy.

There is a breakfast place just past Wings when you go out front and turn left, probably 1/8 of a mile. They have a 2 egg, potatoes & toast breakfast for $2.99! A little further down was Ocean's Bar, which was AWESOME! The food and service was fantastic. We took a cab one night each in each direction from the hotel. First to the pier, and went to 101 Ocean and to Aruba, both of which were fun, and then we walked back the mile or so along the beach.

We went the opposite direction and had a mediocre and expensive meal at steakhouse H2O. Would not recommend it.

We saw sting rays, 10' tarpons and baby sharks in the very shallow water, so be careful, but the natives say they won't hurt you... I didn't stick around to find out.

We had a great stay, and the price didn't hurt either!

We stayed in a suite as a family of five. It was okay. Things were pretty much falling apart. Plus, the staff is horrible. There was no one at the front desk when we went to check in at 6 p.m. A valet parking guy had to go find someone for us. The service was very indifferent, at best. The place was way overpriced for its completely run-down state. Things were broken everywhere. There is a restaurant, but there was never anybody there -- it looked closed all the time we there, though we had to walk through it to get the the beach, as the beach access elevator was broken. I could go on and on about the things that didn't work or were falling apart.

There was a plus, though -- the pool area was nice, and the beach access was wonderful. We enjoyed getting up early every morning and walking the beaches. So, if you get a great deal, this is a safe place to stay, if all you want to do is swim in the pool, sit in the hot tub, and go to the beach. Otherwise, find another place.

We were heading to Ft lauderdale for A special dinner and needed a place to stay so not to make the 2 hour drive home. I found an amazingly cheap deal on Hotwire and took it. First Impressions of the hotel when you walk in aren't bad. I had tried to put the bad reviews I'd read out of my mind it seemed okay. Yes the parking/safe box fee is obnoxious, especially when the valet guy was never around so we were just parking and retreiving the car ourselves. When we got off the elevator to head to our room you could immediately smell the age and old funk of the hotel. The room was okay, clean, but the bedspreads and linens are so old they really make you wonder. The carpet was constantly damp and sticky. The balcony that you basically share with everyone on your floor, had a nice view of the ocean ( just turn your head from the old rooftop and dirty restaurant ally). Basically I'm glad we were only here to sleep after many cocktails and not have to stay long. It"s really more like an old motel on the beach with a pool and some toys. It is very convenient to a grocery store dunkin donuts and a few restaurants. It seemed to appeal to a certain party crowd that maybe if I was a college student here on spring break I wouldn't mind it either. I am really glad I only paid 62$!!!

Dirty, dirty and small!! Regular room has 2 double beds. One table and 2 chairs. The only way to sit at the table would be to climb over bed. There is no space in the room. Both the entry door and the door to balcony are old, splintered wood doorws. Carpet dirty, burn marks. Bathroom digusting, yellow water from bathtub faucet, loose toilet seat, floor had particles of trash not cleaned up, toilet paper holder had goobs of yellow grout on the top. There is a step down to balcony through door in bedroom. There is no signage, no warning. Easy to twist ankles. Closet door did not work, never got it open. Walls cracked and peeling paint. This resort lists their rooms as one bedroom with 2 beds or suites with king size bed in bedroom, living room and kitchen. The price is 3 times the amount for the larger ones which have an oceanside view. The regular room is NOT one bedroom, it is a tiny regular hotel room. Would never stay there again. Parking in an equally tiny parking lot is $9.00 a night,

My husband and I booked this hotel based on reviews from the internet and pictures on the website. It was awful! First off, they hit you with a $9 a day parking fee and aother chanrge of $1 a day to use the safe in your room. They also put a $150 hold on my credit card in case I wanted to charge anything to my room during our stay. When I told them I didn't wish to have that option, the receptionist told us that she had to do it because the $150 also served as a damage deposit. I doubt that my husband and I could have done anymore damage than was already done to that place! The pool was green, the tiki bar EXTREMELY over priced ($20 for a beer and a pina colada served in a plastic picnic cup), and the lobby smelled like body odor. The staff were rude and the rooms, horrendous! We had a partial ocean view room and when I walked out on the balcony all we overlooked was a run-down building's roof. It was bad. Needless to say we left after being there less than 20 minutes and stayed in a much nicer and cleaner hotel down the road. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL.

Nice and clean hotel, directly at the beach. Rooms were nice and the swimmingpool too.
The valetparking costs 9 dollar a day. It was not necessary to make it valetparking because the car was parked directly next to the entrance.
Breakfast was not included but there were enough restaurant in the neighbourhood. No HBO channels.
