We did a timeshare exchange to stay here. We arrived by 1. The room was not ready, Rosie took our cell and said she would call us when ready..we thought perfect because we wanted to go have lunch. We walked the 1 block to the beach and lots of restaurants/bars. By the time we finished lunch, we got the call that the room was ready. Thankfully, we got the room our confirmation said we would 1805...I think it was the best room or one of the best rooms. It was the PH floor (18th fl in other words) corner unit facing beach and the Bonnet House. One bedrm unit with murphy bed and pull out couch. The room was clean, but furniture was little outdated and spots here and there. The kitchen was well equipped..other than not having a spatula! It is an electric stove. The bathroom was small, but fine. No tub, shower only could use some more scrubbing or new tiles. The unit was attached to another so it had a door to the other unit which you could hear the people next door. This door was near the bedroom, but it didn't bother us. The bedroom was not really big, but it was comfortable. The bed was somewhat hard. The closet was really big with Iron and ironing board and safe..they charge for the use of the safe. The view from the room was also ocean view; partially blocked by another hotel and restaurant, but still beautiful view of the sunrise. The best was the view as you come in the unit! The ocean view was the best and you had the sunrise which we woke up to look at just about every day. We had the balcony and below was the pool. To the right was the city and port view. Below was the Bonnet House with beautiful green trees and palm trees. Down the street there was a bar with some hot loud music Saturday nite...but that was the only day. I enjoyed it! The pool was not big, but it was never crowded so it was nice. It was nice having the bar by the pool, but the drinks took too long to be made. They also served some food. They had Karaoke one nite which was fun...you get a free drink if you sang...so I said why not!! The restaurant on the site was closed! The front desk workers were really polite and friendly. All staff we ran into were friendly. I liked that after a certain time in the late evening, they lock the front door and you have to use your key to get in. I believe the back door you always have to use the key. Parking was available out front, side and rear of hotel. Overall....my husband and I would stay here again without a doubt. The location was convenient to grocery stores, restaurants, beach, bars, clubs, shops, water taxi. There is a bus that goes along the beach route also. It is tough to find parking along the beach, you have to pay meters. Stay here...its worth it!

Room Tip: I would say floors that are about at least the 7th or 8th floor facing the ocean are the best. Same...

We were pleasantly surprised by our stay here. We pulled up at the hotel around 11am. Knowing that checkin was at 4pm we were hoping to check in at 2 at best. They told us that our room would be ready in an hour. They also upgraded us when they saw that I was disappointed that we were not overlooking the ocean. The place was cleaned and well stocked for us. The staff was friendly as were most of the guests that we encountered. In a good location in close proximity to food and shopping and the concierge was a big help to us as well. I cant say anything bad, we had a great vacation and they helped make sure that we did. Thanks Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort!

Room Tip: Choose a room on the ocean side and higher up the better for a great view.

Rooms are very outdated and tv is probably 20 years old. My biggest issue is how I could hear people next to my room walking, they were not being loud it's just the place has no soundproof, felt like i was next door with the strangers. I woke up at night to pee and could hear them snoring and they were not even being loud.

The resort was a little outdated but the rooms were clean. The staff was friendly . Kristie the pool bartender was great. The alcohol is all wine based so if you don't like wine, take your own. The front desk clerk Rosie was very nice. We tried to check in early. The room wasn't ready. They offered a vacation club free lunch and trying to sell the vacation club. The room became available right after the lunch and sales pitch was over.

Room Tip: We were on the 5 th floor. The view wasn't great but the trip from the lobby to the room was gre...

When you have travelled for almost 24 hours from Europe to start your holiday, it is a great disappointment to be given an apartment on the lowest floor overlooking the car park.
We spent a week there pre-cruise and used a timeshare exchange for a 2 bedroom unit. This was actually a 1 bed room apartment with a studio lockoff. Even without the lock off, the apartment was huge. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen worked well.
We went up to the top floor (16th?) for a sales meeting and the views were amazing which really made returning down to our car park view very very disappointing. One consolation was that there were actually rooms with a worse view where the pool area had been built right up against the balconies.
We did ask to change rooms but were told that the building was full (it was Easter week).
Location, however, was good with a 2 minute walk to the ocean, Hugh Taylor State Park was across the road to one side and Bonnet House was right next door. Las Olas Blvd was a 5 minute drive and attractions like Butterfly World and the Sawgrass Shopping Mall were each just a 30/40 minute drive away.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room on the highest floor possible if you like a view.

I was looking for a room to sleep in with my family and be able to make breakfast every morning with out spending a fortune.
The hotel is a time sharing company that rents out the rooms that are vacant and not used by there time sharing clients. Nothing fancy, but clean! our room had the smell of fresh paint and it would seem the hotel in general was well keped.
The nice thing, it is in the middle of all the action, located one block away from the beach and a easy walk and also ample amount of parking for there guest. We never use the pool ( I prefer the ocean ) but from our room I could see it and it look clean and had long chairs all around it. Also has a small hot tub on a terase with lots of long chairs for the sun seakers.
THIS IS NOT THE RITZ, but I would not hesitate to recommend a friend on a budget there.
One more thing, I loved the Murphy bed that popped out of the wall it accommodated our family of 3 very well.

Room Tip: upper floors if possible

Resort is nice but could use an update. It is very clean and the furnishings are nice. Great location as well. My only complaint is the two small elevators don't seem to be able to keep up with the traffic. There is a third hidden elevator that is used mostly by staff that we managed to find which helped a lot. Especially since the door of it opens right in front of the pool. The lady that checked us in was a little rude because my father was talking at the same time that she was trying to talk and she got annoyed with him but the staff that cleans and the staff art the bar are amazing. We did ask for an extra blanket that never came and the matresses on the beds are a little hard.
