We stayed on March 8th, a day before our cruise. We stayed in the refinished building overlooking the pool. What a nice view. The room was beautiful. The staff even better. The hotel had a shuttle that took us down to the beach and a restaurant called Aruba, which was right on the beach, that we really liked. We gave them a call and they came promptly to pick us up. Our driver was great and even stopped for us on the way back so we could purchase water and wine for our cruise. He made the trip fun. Kudos to the staff! They had fresh cookies in the evening and fresh coffee and green apples that were complimentary in the morning. They did have a breakfast buffet for purchase for $10. I don't know what I was expecting. I was afraid it was in a bad area, but it was not at all. It was actually very nice. I would definitely stay again. We also had rented a car, and the free parking was a plus as well.

Room Tip: choose a room in the refinished building overlooking the pool.

Decent, as many of the rooms on the upper floors are all completely renovated. Ask for a renovated room.

You will need a car if you want to check out downtown area (Las Olas is 6 miles away), unless you dont mind spending $$ on cabs. There is a free shuttle service to/from the beach area, which is 2.5 miles away on a busy boulevard. The free shuttle will actually take you anywhere within a 3 mile radius, which includes the beach and not much else. The walk is long and not really pleasant, so you'd want a car or to take the shuttle.

Cab or shuttle service to/from the airport is $35 one-way, which makes the concept of a rental car worth the thought, especially if you want to check out more than just the beach area.

Lauderdale-by-the-sea is a cool, beach village atmosphere; more relaxed feel different from Lauderdale Beach. Tends to be an older crowd (which is good and bad, depending on what kind of vacation you are looking for). It was perfect for us, as we just wanted a relaxed beach vacation.

Thought the room was very comfortable. We had a room facing the pool and even though you are right on a very busy street you could not hear the traffic at all. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Only complaint is no free breakfast but that is standard at courtyard hotels. Would recommend it.

We stayed here for one night pre-cruise. From Ft. Lauderdale airport to this hotel will run you about a $40 cab ride one way. We were under the impression that this hotel was much closer to the airport. Although the hotel has a shuttle van, it will only take you around to close proximities. Not to the airport or port. If you ask the front desk for a recommended shuttle service to take you to the port, you can pre-book a van the night prior to pick you up the morning of your cruise for about $30. Make sure you reserve the earliest pick up time to take this shuttle to the port in case they need to drop off guests at other ships. The port gets VERY crowded.

Hotel renovations (as mentioned in previous posts on this thread) have been completed for the most part. Check in was friendly and easy. We used the hotel shuttle to go to a local grocery store to get a few bottles of water to take on the ship since the cruise lines charge about $5 per bottle in your stateroom. Bed was clean, but carpets were older. Pool and Jacuzzi was clean, but we didn’t use them since it was raining the day we checked in. There is a Denny’s across the street and within walking distance for a quick bite or to take something back to the room as we did. Beach is within walking distance as well. They had a small area to eat at inside the lobby of the hotel, but we were told breakfast was an additional $10 per person. Decent hotel all around.

Room Tip: Ask for something quiet if you want to sleep.

Quiet rooms on a busy street. The buffet breakfast not to be missed. 9.95$ Probably best breakfast deal in Ft., Lauderdale. Hotel close to Lauderdale by the Sea, with its cosy cafes and restaurants a must beach to visit..

Surely this hotel will be renewed compltely as they have done with other courtyards, but in the meantime its a very good hotel for your stay in Ft. Lauderdale.
