Lago Mar was a great resort to stay in with two of my teenage daughters. Room was clean. Service was great. Beach was terrific. Easy to get to from airport. Suite had plenty of room. Was what we expected and more. Look forward to returning. Please call Marcus for all your transportation needs. Prompt and courteous. Outstanding service with a smile. Extremely knowledgeable of Fort Lauderdale area. (954)635-0725.

Our family returned to Lago Mar. Third time at the resort. It was wonderful to recognize employees that we remembered from our previous visits. The pool is so relaxing and clean, the beach outstanding. Jyme, at the beach/pool (please, forgive me for not spelling his name correctly) was so welcoming and efficient. He went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and well attended.
Our room had a marvelous view and balcony, overlooking the pool and sights of the ocean. Lago is such a beautiful place to view the ocean. We had a two bedroom kitchen unit, with a fabulous layout, one slight observation, for the size of the unit the master bath was a little small. Recalling/comparing the room that we stayed in on our previous trip. The room could use a fresh coat of paint around the woodwork. Hopefully this is one of the units waiting an update. It was clean, the twin beds in the second bedroom were dated. We loved having two bathroom, very nice for a family. This unit is wonderful for an extended stay. We had our family pictures taken on the beach with Michael. Lago Mar is an amazing resort, due to their wonderful employees. Our teenage boys, who did not thrilled with taking time for family pictures on the beach. Afterwards, our older son gave me a hug and said, "thank you Mom !! that was fun, glad we did it". Thank you Michael, it was a pleasure and a treasure to meet you. We look forward to our next visit at Lago Mar.

I have not been here for a few years and couldn't wait to go back! It was like I never left. A lot of the same employees, which says so much. I always stay in the executive one bedroom suite overlooking the lagoon pool. They have been updated since I was last there and are very nice. The
mattresses are so comfortable I wanted to ask if I could buy one! Ate and had drinks at the Promenade Bar - both very good and very accommodating. The Soda Shoppe was our choice for breakfast as we are not big breakfast people. Great selection and yummy muffins. We did order room service once and it was hot, delicious and plentiful. Went off property to visit family and called down for a cab and was surprised and delighted that they have a car service, which was a new clean van. The driver, Marcus was outstanding and we ended up using him again twice. He charges a flat rate which was better for us than a taxi. All their employees are very friendly and go out of their way to make sure your stay is memorable. Already planning to go back very soon!

Room Tip: I always book an Executive One Bedroom Suite overlooking the lagoon pool.

We went there for 3 nights with our 2 young children for spring break. We stayed at the executive suite so when the kids asleep, my husband and I can still have time to ourselves. The suite has a very generous size of living room. It has a round dinning table, side table, coffee table, sleep sofa and 2 night stands. There are also 2 flat screen TVs, one in the living room and another in the bedroom. I believe each room has a balcony and some face the pool, beach or garden. At least for the executive suite, all the rooms are very spacious and clean.

The hotel is not the contemporary style but a little old glamour. It gives you a cozy and quaint feel. And the staff from the front desk to the attendant at the beach are all very friendly and helpful. I only had 1 minor negative experience at the restaurant with one of the servers but all the other encounters were wonderful.

The hotel really go out of their way to make there guests feel comfortable and relax. They provide plenty activities for the kids from miniature golf to floor chess board and they also have a small playground with hammocks. There are also variety types of restaurants so you can either get a quick bite like hamburger at the cafe or nice dinning with sit down restaurant.

The food at their restaurant is awesome and delicious! Their desserts are yummy and they aren't skimpy on the portion. My husband had their Italian one night and he thought was really good. The price is reasonable as well, it is about ~$20/entry. The breakfast buffet isn't super big but it has plenty of varieties to choose from. They also make fresh egg benedict at the griddle.

The best part of the hotel is the beach. It is clean and wide. There are plenty beach chairs. You don't have to cross the street, it is right behind the hotel. The pool is a good size and I believe it is heated.

By the time we were leaving, my son already requested for us to come back again for next spring break! I second of that. :)

My mother and I enjoyed a fabulous stay at Lago Mar. It was more than we could have ever expected. When we were in the car still looking for the hotel, I stopped and took a photograph of it from the bridge across the canal..we didn't know at the time that was Lago Mar, but thought the place looked beautiful. We were pleasantly surprised when we discovered that was the place we were going to be staying. The grounds are beautiful and clean and the private beach was breathtaking. All of the staff were very attentive and always friendly. We really enjoyed Edin, the server and Michael, James and Doris and the girls in the soda shoppe were all fabulous! We loved the resort gift shop and the hotel amenities. The spa also offered a beautiful and intimate place to relax. We enjoyed the colorful, lush landscaping and cozy hammocks throughout. The resort offers so much for everyone with amenities like mini putt, chess, tennis, shuffleboard and gorgeous pools. It is the perfect place for a family, or romantic getaway. The rooms are stunning and the suites are absolutely huge. It's like having your own apartment! The live entertainment by the pool was a nice touch. The food everywhere on the resort was outstanding. From the amazing cheeseburger at the soda shoppe to the fine dining dinner at Aquario, it was just spectacular. My mouth is still watering just thinking about it! They all just made our stay feel so warm and welcoming, like we were staying with family. We just can't wait to go back again soon!

We were only at the resort for a couple of nights and thought it was really lovely. The beach is the best part. It is private and kept clean with lots of lounge chairs. The beach attendant was very friendly and informative.

The hotel is a bit dated but it is still charming and our room was very clean. We enjoyed the lunches on the patio and drinks at the pool bar. There are several different places to get something to eat throughout the day on property. The front desk and concierge were very helpful when looking to dine off property. We had a rented car and didn't have to pay for parking which was nice.

The only negative is that I felt like the swimming pools were not attended to at all. We were there all day on a Saturday and Sunday. The hotel was at full capacity. Lounge chairs were left with dirty towels and no personal property for hours. Dirty food containers and empty cups with crushed fruit were left on the ground. They are in dire need of pool attendants that will constantly clean up trash, straighten out chairs and remove towels left behind so other guests can have a lounge chair. We experienced 14 teenagers come in a side gate and spend at least two hours at the pool with us. They arrived with their own towels and backpacks. They were obnoxious and had potty mouths. It was about 4:00 pm and the pool concierge left for the day. When I called the front desk they said they would send security out and NEVER did. I felt like we were paying top dollar and shouldn't have to put up with "pool crashers." I have never stayed at a resort like this that didn't have visible security and pool attendants that are there to keep things clean, tidy and safe. The two people working at the Pool Concierge desk did not clean up at all. Saw one of them actually step over a several towels on the ground that were all wet instead of picking them up and putting in a dirty towel bin. Maybe that isn't their job.

There were a lot of families enjoying themselves. It does seem like a great family resort. I would go back if I knew they would keep the pool areas cleaner and the chairs monitored so that all guests are welcome to use them. Cleanliness around the pool is just really important to me.
