“Great Hotel & Wonderful Staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 November 2012

What surprised me the most was the real friendliness of each & every staff person from the doormen to the front desk, concierge, housekeepers, waiters, pool & beach attendants etc.
This is the the best staff I have every seen in a Marriott & maybe in any hotel!

Great location right on the beach. Very nice pool, grounds, lobby. Very well run hotel.

Restaurant 3030 Ocean was very good for dinner. Sea Level was very good for lunch.
Riva was good standard Marriott breakfast food, but service was on the slow side.

One minor complaint would be the high price of sunscreen in the gift shop. I expect to pay vacation/ hotel mark-up prices for everything, but I thought the price for sunscreen was too high for a necessity like this.

This hotel is actually not bad in terms of rooms and staff and service, but it is just so huge, that it simply is hard to truly enjoy. The place can be overwhelming from arrival time - you may have 2-3 conference going at the same time, lots of large families arriving, etc. it is highly unlikely you will get a room before 2-3pm - so be prepared to have your beach clothes and other necessities to enjoy yourself easy to access from your luggage. Even underground parking garage is hard to navigate once you park in there - not easy to find the elevator or stairs to get back to the lobby. It seems a bit chaotic, but I have to say the stuff makes it run pretty well. I chose it for closeness to the airport as we were leaving the next night and only needed one day there and it is right on the beach and has a nice huge pool if the ocean is cold or stormy. And it is all that, but still I would not be staying there next time due to its overwhelming size.

This is a big and bustling hotel. I like it, particularly the whole ground floor bar/restaurant/lobby vibe. Love having a Starbucks there too. I had a pretty pokey room though with sweeping views of air-conditioning units but then I hadn't booked an ocean- view one so can't really complain. Depending on your room, it can be a bit of a corridor schlep but all relative I suppose. Great location on the beach, and top notch pool and fitness facilities if you have the time.

We just stayed for one night in the hotel to celebrate our anniversary.
The room really need refurbishing. And for a couple there are too many kids around.
More privacy is possible in the spa pool that could also have some improvement and the service at the spa pool is very slow
On the other hand the restaurant 3030 we had a perfect lobster and good service. The exercise room faces the pool and is well mantained.
Overall the price of the hotel did not meet our expectations.
Maybe for a family with kids it would be bettter.

Room Tip: Always ask for a beach view.

Spent another 17 nights at this beautiful hotel - our absolute favourite in Fort Lauderdale. A big thank you to all the staff, especially the ones at Riva who welcomed us every morning for breakfast. BTW- love the new look at Riva. It's all been said before but this truly is a wonderful place. We're here twice a year and of course, we'll be back soon. Thank you Harbor Beach!

I had a nice stay at the Harbor Marriott. Lovely hotel with plenty of relaxing outdoor patio seating to enjoy the view of the ocean. Food was delish with a menu of good choice options. Rooms are standard/typical for a Marriott. Very good quality but nothing of a wow. Make sure to get a room with a balcony and view of the Ocean. That is the wow factor. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony view of the Ocean. Rooms on the other side of the hotel have a view of...

Great hotel, super location, it had everything you want from à luxury hotel. Right at à private beach, 5 minuten away from a restaurant and shopping strip, as well as from the Galleria Mall. 30 minutes from Sawgrass mills.
