“Very Nice Resort. Will be going back for sure.”

First time in Ft. Lauderdale and I must say the Harbor Marriot did not disappoint. Even with the Windy and Cloudy weather we had much to do. The spa was great and the private pool area with the spa was very nice. The main pool was big and would be great for kids.

Food:
3030 dinning was ok and a bit pricey but the food was good. Morning Breakfast at the Riva was expensive $25 per person for buffet. Again was good but was very pricey for breakfast. The Sea Level Restuarant was good but was again expensive. We had 1 drink and 1 app and it was over $40. Also went to H20 and Spazio off the resort. Both meals were good. Both places are on the main strip north of Las Olas Blvd. Good place to ppl watch and catch views of the beach. Best meal we had was off the resort at Trulucks in the Galleria mall. Best meal by far. Was pricey but well worth it.

Resort:
The staff were excellent. Very helpful and friendly at all times. The concerige desk was great and helped in getting a day rental car from Hertz which has a Kiosk desk on site. They really did go out of their way to help and make their guest happy.

The resort would be great for kids as well as it does have Tennis Courts, Basketball Court, and a Surf Club (cater to kids events for the day).

Best thing about this resort compared to others is you can walk out of the resort and right onto the beach. The resort is situated at the bottom near the inlet so you don't need to worry about the hordes of ppl. It it alittle bit of a walk (15 Minutes) to get to the main strip.

Transportation:
We took a taxi from the FT. Lauderdale airport and it was less then $20 and took all of 10-15 minutes.

Room Tip: Was in Room 615. Ocean Facing room. Not at the top or bottom, right in the middle. Away from the ele...

Marriott always seems to have the best real estate. Hilton and Hyatt close by but not his top location on the beach close to cruise port. Lots of amenities indoor and out. Didn't give 5 stars just because there are better marriotts but better than what else is close.

Being a frequent traveler and have stayed in more hotels than I want to admit, this place just tops them all. It’s clean and well staffed to meet all your needs. Everyone on the staff has the biggest smiles on their face and is super friendly when engaged (from the guy’s at the front door, the front desk, everyone at the pool and beach area). You hear from the staff over and over, yes you can or yes we can. What a refreshing experience!

If you’re looking to relax and have a hassle free stay then, this is the place.

Property is only a 10 minute ride by taxi from the Ft Lauderdale airport. Add in the $20/night hotel parking fee, trouble finding parking anywhere you go, and you are better off just taking a cab and walking everywhere you need to go. There is not much that is next to the property, so expect some walking.

The majority of the good restaurants are about a mile down starting at W Las Olas blvd heading north. The nightlight and atmosphere is not quite the same party crowd you would see in South Beach, but close to the same if not better in the people watching department. Your dining right on the sidewalk, listening to live music, admiring great bodies (even at 10pm running on the boardwalk), and seeing some amazing cars feet from your fresh seafood.

We walked past and into a few of the other hotels and they don't even come close to the Harbor Beach. Their location may be better if you need to be stumbling distance to your room, but that is the extent of it. The rooms were plenty large with great views of the ocean or river. Get a room on the end and you will get to enjoy a bit of both.

The pool was large enough and designed well to keep the kids and families at one end while providing a bit more privacy and adult tailored at the other end. There are no real kid specific areas and a second pool that tailed to this would have made it even better. They have a water fall at the one end and unfortunately did not use the space for a hot tub or to swim under unfortunately.

They did have a "kids camp" however I never saw a single kid in it. Seemed a bit on the pricey side for what was being offered.

Be prepared for some sticker shock when it comes to food and beverage. As convenient as it would have been to have eaten their we either ordered out or went out. We stopped at a local market and grabbed snacks and drinks for a fraction of the price (just north of the water taxi stand and marina stand on the same side. There was a great hole in the wall place to eat right on the river, just next to where you grab the water taxi (you see the tables as you wait in line). Food, service, and views were great. So good we ate their every morning. Seems like they drew a good crowd in the evening and their food was at least $5 less per plate ($17 for fresh fish vs $22++). The entrance to the hotel may wanna make you turn around, but once you get to your table you will forget all about it. The main dinning is north of E Las Olas and it was 100% wonderful with live entertainment at several. Most had fresh seafood with their own twist and never had a problem getting seated. Don't sit right away and most will had you a discount card for ~10% off your bill.

The rest of the property was very nice, clean, and had enough places for you to get lost. There were 2 wedding one evening and you still did not feel that you were intruding on their even or that they were in your space. The sand and beach are wonderful with a morning to the park/playground just north of the property. They have all the standard rental type items available if you feel the need right on the property.

The spa was nice and they even offer a free time for platinum members after a certain time to use the facilities: hot tub, steam room, etc....

The water taxi as mentioned above is a must do. It runs late into the night and gives you a great view of the city along with a story about the mansions, mega yachts, and fun facts. Throw in a great way to get to dinner and it beats a cab any day. There are specified times and a limited number of taxis running which can make for some long wait times. But plan on them running about every 30-60 minutes.

All in all a very nice property especially if you're using some of your points and staying for free. Thanks Marriott for a great vacation!!

Room Tip: Rooms on the east face the ocean and west face the city and river. Get a room on the far north end...

Great location on the beach, wave-runner rentals right at hotel. Hotel shops reasonably priced.
Awesome hotel pool, with Bar grill.

Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations. The location is fantastic, the beach is wonderful and the service is top notch. First, the location. It is in the Harbor Beach area, just south of the main strip. It is set off the main road and is in a private alcove. Very quiet, and the beach is private and quiet as well. Its only a few minute car ride or a brisk walk to the center of the public beach. Its also only a very quick cab ride to the Cruise ports. Second, the beach is clean, wide and well stocked with chairs (free) and umbrellas, cabanas ($). Third, the overall service is the best. It boarders on Ritz-like service. Had a small problem with my bill -- the front desk took care of it in no time-no questions asked. The valet's, doormen, pool servers, etc are all super friendly and helpful. Even though it was a croweded weekend, there were plenty of pool chairs and the drinks and food came quick and was good. Maid service was friendly and took care of everything we needed.

The property missed a perfect 5, however, on a few fronts:
1. There is a $25 daily charge for self parking, or $32 for valet. I hate hotel parking charges when you're already paying high rates for room, food, etc. However in this case there is no "resport" fee, so you have to pay somehow. We elected to self park, which is covered and convenient (for the most part). However, during busy times we drove around the self park lot for 20+ minutes looking for a spot, and gave up and went to the Valet. They charged us the valet rate, even though we wanted to self park. That's nonsense. Its not the $7, its the principle.
2. No free Wi-Fi. That stinks.
3. The property is showing its age in spots. It is very clean, but the rooms are small and in need of a total renovation to really be 5*.
4. While service was great as mentioned, the beach service missed the mark.

Even with these negatives, it is an overall great spot, and I'd stay again and again!

My partner and I stayed here for four nights during the Fort Lauderdale boat show. We asked for a king size room on a high floor when the room was booked. No guarantees ... i understand this BUT.....when we checked in neither was available and we were offered a double room. On stressing we asked for a king sized bed room one suddenly "just" became available. When we checked into this room, the balcony had stray cigarette butts on it, a high wall to the outdoor seating area and a close up and personal view of several large air conditioning vents and nothing else. It felt like a room that people were sent to for punishment or one that staff were allocated to when they had to have time out. Certainly, on checking in we should have been fully advised of the quality of this room before we accepted it. We asked immediately if another room was available but this request was turned down. We continued to ask every day if another room was available and one never became available. Car parking was a problem on a couple of occasions until it transpired that clearance from the car park had not been loaded onto our room key... a minor inconvenience but it annoyingly delayed us on a couple of social engagements. There was only camomile tea in the rooms, ghastly half and half milk that was curdled and paper cups. Room service didn't get to the room until 5 pm one day. Staff were overwhelmingly welcoming, in fact so much so that it felt contrived.
The pool area was lovely, all the public facilities were perfectly nice and the location was sensational. A very disappointing stay for somewhere we had so been looking forward to.
Marriott.......my advice is consign room 512 to being a broom cupboard for all your guests sake.

Room Tip: Not 512 unless you like the scenic view of the air conditioner vents, a prison like wall to the outd...
