“Personally, A disappointment.”
Reviewed 9 January 2014

OK so this is a 4 star hotel and as a 4 star hotel I got my expectations high. The room was clean and spacious and the view of the harbor from the 14th floor was amazing.

The things that sabotaged my full enjoyment in this hotel were:
1. Crowded elevators- Going down from the 14th floor to the lobby took approximately 10 minutes ( also the way up was the same torture). Seemed like the elevator is stopping in every floor. Yes it was the holiday season and the hotel was crowded and busy, but apparently not all 6 elevators were available.
2. Very low quality of night sleep- For some reason, every night at about 11 pm, a strange noise of pumps/ air conditioning system started to work very loudly and it lasted till the early morning hours. I used to wake up a lot during the nights and had a very very poor quality of sleep.
3. What about the toddlers? There is only one adult swimming pool in the hotel (except the one in the SPA) and no toddlers' pool at all. I would also expect some kind of toddlers' activity/play room .Some resorts do have this kind of room. A big disadvantage in my opinion.

I love staying at the Harbor Beach Marriott. The rooms are spacious and always clean. I love the pool service they have and the beach is right there. We went there for my son's birthday and it did not dissapoint. Willl be back.

We wish we could have stayed longer. There's access to miles of beach in either direction. Lots of room to roam or sit and relax between the hotel and ocean. Pool area looked inviting. Our room had two balconies. One of them was large enough for 10 people to sunbathe. Don't discount the city view when selecting a room. Great view. Very close to airport and cruise port.
We stayed here after our cruise. Other hotels claim to be "cruise port" hotels. This property is a good option before or after a cruise. Exceeded our expectations.

I stayed here for four nights while working in Florida. I was lucky to have a day off over a weekend and enjoyed the private beach and pool areas, as well as the excellent spa.

Other JDM hotels are usually good but this one was excellent. Next time i will use this as a weekend break. And Fort lauderdale itself was great especially Las Olas, the area has many great bars and restaurants that worked well for all types of client.

Soon to return i hope

This place is perfect! If you are a beach bum, you don't even need a car. So many great dining venues within walking distance. Friendly, accommodating staff. (least friendly were in the Starbucks- go figure). The front desk - nice, fun folks! Concierge bent over backwards to help when I had an onsite car rental problem. Rooms a little dated BUT, I wasn't there for the room. Go Oceanfront- the view is impressive! Can catch a water taxi or Sun Trolley within a block of the hotel- like I said, no need for car esp. with significant nightly parking charge. OMG, food at the hotel (though expensive) is excellent! A little truck pulls up to your lounge chair on the beach for drinks and lunches- if you want to relax (maybe even be a complete slug), this is the way to go. No immigration, just grab your luggage, cabs right outside the bag claim and your off! Great place for a long weekend!

Room Tip: Go Oceanview- perfect sunrise!

Every year I go to Florida if I am not going to Disney, or other parts of Florida I am visiting my family in Fort Lauderdale, Florida! We always stay at the Marriott Harbor Resort & Spa! It is just wonderful! They are very nice and they care about all their guests. They are very helpful and wonderful! The beach is amazing... everything is just amazing about this hotel! You could never go wrong with the Harbor Beach! I would recommend it to anyone!

Stayed here for 2 plus days before our cruise, and it really added to our vacation. Wonderful pool area, lovely staff, lots for kids to do. Even saw a lovely wedding from our balcony. Much closer to the cruise port than we expected, which was a pleasant surprise. Even though we were there the weekend before Xmas, which must have been busy, we never felt like the facilities were too crowded or the staff too stressed. My only criticism are the beds. A family of 4 in two doubles should work, but because the beds are so soft, sleeping toward the edge was really uncomfortable.

Room Tip: Room facing the beach is well worth the extra $
