I stayed here for 4 nights.

Breakfast is very expensive at the Riva restaurant. For a bowl of cereal, yogurt, muffin, oj/coffee which is the lowest on the menu you're looking at $16 without tip.

The hotel gym is great, new machines and lots of them. Better yet, head north out of the hotel and there is a nice wide sidewalk between the road and beach which goes several miles. In the morning and evening there are hardly anyone else on the sidewalk and you get a great view of the ocean. The state park (beach) also has some basketball courts and a fitness course with several stations.

The pool was very nice and had warm water. The spa was good, but the knob to keep the bubbles going was challenging at times.

If you're up for walking, also headed north there are several great restaurants (go to coconuts for great seafood) as well as all the other "spring break" type of food and tourist shops.

Room Tip: Try to get room with a view of the ocean.

Hotel entrance leave a little to be desired, but don't get concerned. Once inside, in the rooms and out to the beach side - it is wonderful. Some mileage on facilities, but great overall. My room was spacious, ocean view, patio, living room. Beach has plenty of sand for all activities. Great food at pool bar. Room service was timely and high quality food with hefty portions. A bit expensive, in line with similar locals.

Room Tip: Get ocean view. It's worth it.

Had a pool/beach view on the 5th floor with a nice balcony. Had a great view of the entire pool area and limited view of the beach. The room was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. We had lunch and drinks at the Sea Level restaurant which was very good. Service by the pool was very good and convenient. All of the staff was welcoming and helpful. Would definitely stay at this property again.

I travel regularly to Fort Lauderdale on business and this time I decided to bring my wife and daughter along. We chose the Marriott as it had a pool and kids club and also it is the ONLY hotel right on the beach without having to cross the A1A. We were not disappointed. The customer service was excellent, especially from the Bell Desk and Breakfast servers. It is is a well-run, well-maintained hotel with excellent facilities, both for families and business travelers alike. We'll done guys.

Room Tip: Ask to be on a high floor for a better view of the ocean.

Family of 3 stayed 4 nights over new years. Good sized rooms, clean and friendly. Good gym, fantastic beach club and pool area. Some distance away from the main attractions in Fort Lauderdale, but this is the place to stress down. Beatiful beach with plenty of complementary sun beds. Many nice sofas in front of the hotel where you can watch the ocean while you have nice coffee (or what not...). High standard restaurants with good food and wine list. The only disappointment was lack of capacity at breakfast. Serious queing as the hotel did not open the adjoined restaurant for seeting when the buffet restaurant was full. This is "unforgiveable" from a hotel in this price range and the reason why it gets 4 stars only. Bjørn

OK so this is a 4 star hotel and as a 4 star hotel I got my expectations high. The room was clean and spacious and the view of the harbor from the 14th floor was amazing.

The things that sabotaged my full enjoyment in this hotel were:
1. Crowded elevators- Going down from the 14th floor to the lobby took approximately 10 minutes ( also the way up was the same torture). Seemed like the elevator is stopping in every floor. Yes it was the holiday season and the hotel was crowded and busy, but apparently not all 6 elevators were available.
2. Very low quality of night sleep- For some reason, every night at about 11 pm, a strange noise of pumps/ air conditioning system started to work very loudly and it lasted till the early morning hours. I used to wake up a lot during the nights and had a very very poor quality of sleep.
3. What about the toddlers? There is only one adult swimming pool in the hotel (except the one in the SPA) and no toddlers' pool at all. I would also expect some kind of toddlers' activity/play room .Some resorts do have this kind of room. A big disadvantage in my opinion.
