“Pleasant Spring Break family vacation”
Reviewed 4 April 2014 via mobile

Spent 5 nights in a 2 double bed room with 2 adults and 2 kids, ages 10 and 11 and had an overall good stay. Perks were free lemon/orange water by the pool and an occasional chocolate chip cookie as well as samplings from their restaurant given out in the lobby. Service was good although no one seems to move too fast and maybe half the staff felt genuinely happy to serve you. One day we didn't have our room cleaned until about 4:00 and another time had to wait while they finished cleaning around 1:00. The resort does nickel and dime at every turn and we felt rather captive there as we didn't have a car. Having poolside service was nice and the food was good, so what we saved in reward points and AAA discounts on the room got spent there. Overall good atmosphere for a family and the location can't be beat. Having access to the beach was ideal and we took advantage of the parasailing and the concierge helped with suggesting other activities and how to get around. There are parts of the property that don't get the attention such as the empty cabanas by the tennis courts and some outdoor seating was taken up by smokers which can be unpleasant walking past to get to the lobby area. If you're looking to spend some family time here, go for it and enjoy yourselves. Just be prepared to shell out more to eat and play while here.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to spend a long weekend here in March of 2014. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. They were wonderful -- they made you feel very welcome.
The property is clean and absolutely beautiful. The oceanfront location is amazing. My only wish is that we could have stayed longer!
We would definitely stay here again if we could!

Room Tip: An oceanfront room is the way to go!

My husband and I just spent 4 nights at the Harbor Beach Marriott and could not have been happier with our experience! Literally has anything you could imagine ... in-house spa, resort like pool area, veranda/pier overlooking the beach with plenty of comfy seating and fire pits!!, private beach front, water activities, honestly the list could go on.
We did not have many meals here, however, the food we did have was good. There is also a Starbucks in the hotel which is a nice option for breakfast.
We do not have children but I feel there was a nice balance of children to adults. I believe there is a kids like camp available for families.

I would definitely recommend stay here.

We checked in on a Friday night, met some friends at the bar then had appetizers at the restaurant bar. It must have been late, but the food was not good. Anyway, got up the next morning and had coffee at Starbucks in the lobby then proceeded to the gym which is right off the lobby. What a facility for a resort. It was the best gym in a hotel that I have been to next to the Marriott in Aruba. After that, took coffee to my wife and we went to the pool. Wonderful pool and beach area. Service staff at the pool is very good. Just raise the flag on the back of the beach chair and they will find you. Also the food is good at the pool restaurant. We had a wonderful day, went to see Sting and Paul Simon that evening then came back and sat by the fire pit overlooking the beach. This property is close to the main strip in Ft. Lauderdale. Overall, I would highly recommend this Marriott.

Room Tip: Upgrade. We had a standard room with no view. Next time I would get a pool or ocean view

I am actually conflicted writing this review. On one hand, the Marriott Harbor Beach deserves the recognition as being a wonderful place to stay. On the other hand, I want to keep it hidden from others so it isn't full all the time:)

From the first moment in the location, my wife was in love with the place (I had been there earlier for business). The check-in was flawless and the room fantastic. While walking around the property, every (and I literally mean every) staff member gave us a friendly greeting. Had food there on a three occasions (2 at the sea breeze and 1 in room service). The food was great (although the room service did take a long time and the delivery person didn't mention a tip was included, so he wound up with a 40% tip).

I feel it necessary to point out the outstanding service that we received at check-in from Eli. She is an absolute ROCK STAR for us at our check in and even more impressive when I came down with a question. There was another woman who was flipping out and causing quite the scene over a reservation. This woman had two kids with her and was yelling and cursing out the staff. I saw Eli going into the lobby to help customers so they wouldn't have to be next to this woman, and more impressively to me, when there were no customers to help, I saw her getting this woman's kids some toys and talking with them. Absolutely unreal customer service!

So, long story aside, if you find things to complain about at this place, you need to put things in perspective because this place is a paradise in Fort Lauderdale. Not saying everyone's stay is going to be as good as ours was, and sure, mistakes happen, but man oh man...This place is unbelievably great. Don't let a couple of people with an ax to grind make you miss out on this place.

Looking forward to going back! Thanks to the management of Marriott Harbor Beach for running such a great service orientated hotel.

Room Tip: Have stayed in both intercoastal and ocean front. Go ocean front if you can. The view of the water...

We stayed here for a week in Nov. 2013. From beginning to end, exceptional.the staff, the two bedroom suite, the location, the amenities were all excellent. We spent a lot of time on our deck, with no noise from surrounding neighbors. It was great

From the moment you walk into this first class resort, you know that this is as close to paradise you can get to in this life.

Great bell staff, exclusive elite check in counter and a very friendly staff in every way. My wife and I have stayed at Marriott properties across the western hemisphere and this is one of the very best.

We were upgraded to an ocean front room without asking! Because we were leaving the next day for cruise, we decided to just stay put and explore this wonderful resort. Everything was fantastic; most impressive though are the restaurants. Lunch was at Sea Level, dinner at 3030 Ocean. Honestly, restaurants with Michelin Stars could take lessons from these two. I would highly recommend either, but 3030 Ocean is a great "Date Night" place to be.

When we are back in the FLL Area, we won't hesitate to return!

Here's a small tip: At 3030 Ocean, ask for table 14. We were given this table and found out it is the very best table for two in this fine dining establishment. Direct ocean view in a secluded offset alcove. It was great!
