I have been to a few concerts and festivals where hotels were sold out and staff is overwhelmed. The room was nice and clean, no wait to check in but had to wait about 20 minutes for the room to be ready, not bad. Hotel did not plan very well in being able to take care of many hungry concert goers after the show. We waited almost an hour for a burger at the bar, had to complain to the manager. Bar maids could have been friendlier. We tried to eat at the Mexican restaurant Sunday around noon and were told that they just finished breakfast and were switching to lunch and it would be a while but then ran into a manager who said that was not true. So we sat down and waited 15 minutes without a menu or anyone to approach the table, got up and left. We did however eat at the mexican restaurant later that evening. Good service and excellent food! We had a few meals at the pool bar, pool was nice and great beach access. All in all not a bad stay. Could not beat the location!

Stayed for 4 days great beach. Clean hotel. Nice pool. Excellent location. FRONT DESK STAFF Calesia, was super helpful and knowledgeable. We had a great stay and will be back. If rooms had microwave it would have been perfect.

Room Tip: Balcony ocean view room would be better if room had microwave

We have been to this hotel for the past 7 years! When arriving by air the least expensive option to the hotel is a metered taxi (approx $20). Opt for the ocean view room and not the ocean front room. If you arrive before check in, the hotel will securely store your luggage and you can feel free to go to the beach!
The beach generally has sand pails etc. left by former beach goers, so chances are you won't need to purchase any. We even found a large beach umbrella and used it daily. The hotel rents umbrellas for $19/day.
The Sun trolley is an inexpensive way to see various point of interest and costs $1 one way or $3 for an all day pass. It runs every 30 minutes. There is a Publix grocery store on this route. We like to go there to purchase miscellaneous snacks, drinks, shampoo and sunblock items. We also were able to purchase kids' swim masks for just $5! The hotel offers $8 sandwiches and $3 cupcakes among other things. After enjoying your vacation the hotel offers fee free computers to check in and print your boarding passes without a fee. Happy Travels!

Room Tip: There are 3 very different types of rooms. Be very specific when requesting what you want.

We were lucky to get a room overlooking the beach but for some reason the balcony we booked was unavailable. The layout of the hotel is odd to say the least and you are best trying to obtain a room in the annexe. Having said that the majority of the airline cabin crew are in that building so expect to have to put up with the constant slamming of doors late at night and early (5-6 am) in the morning ( a major gripe of mine to why people cannot just CLOSE doors?!)
We also had a party of teenagers next door to us for one night (4 in a room) with their friends close by. We did complain to security about the noise they were making but I can never understand why hotel staff put such parties next to families/couples? Wouldn't it be better to put groups together?
Dos Caminos is very good and we enjoyed the Pool Bar for lunch but be warned on our departure day ( after a rain shower) we went there for lunch only to find it shut up - suggested to the Front Desk that they advertise the Pool bar as opening subject to weather?
Compared to Marriott Courtyard and Bahia Mar this is my favourite but I would opt for another hotel next time.

We stayed here for a night on our way to Key Largo. It was overall, a pretty good experience. But, it is not your typical Sheraton..... The location was pretty good and the staff was pretty friendly. It was just out of the way of all the hustle and bustle of Fort Lauderdale's main strip, but close enough to be convenient if you wanted to go out. The beach was very nice. However, they put all of the beach chairs, etc. away very early and will actually make you get out of the chairs when you are relaxing on the beach so that they can put them away. But, the beach staff is really nice about it and when the equipment is available, they can't do enough to make your time there pleasant and enjoyable. They have 2 buildings - 1 on the beach and 1 across the street that are connected via a walkway over Seabreeze Blvd. They also charge their customers $20/night to park and they charge you for Wi-Fi. So, factor that into your budget. The rooms are very clean as is the entire hotel overall. The rooms are also a bit outdated. When you go here, keep in mind that the floor numbering between the 2 buildings doesn't match, so if you are in the building across the street, you may end up spending a lot of time in the elevator or stairs going between the main building or the beach and your room.

Room Tip: Be sure to get a room on the beachside building.

I've stayed at better Sheraton's, but the beach here makes up for it. Very nice staff, gave us a very nice corner room with great views. Beach staff were super. Little bit of a walk to the beach, but overall pretty nice.

I stayed here mid may 2014. My room was in the building across the street from the beach with a nice view of the harbor, I had a mini fridge and microwave It is my understanding that the rooms on the beach side do NOT have a fridge and microwave. Room was fine, nothing special, clean, quiet but outdated. Front desk and concierge service was good other than the person who checked me in at midnight, but hey I might not be a ball of sunshine if I was working that late either. Twenty dollar parking a little obnoxious, but garage is convenient. Sheraton charges for wifi, but there were four computers in the lobby you could use as long as you were staying in the hotel, I never had to wait to use them to check flights etc. The bar is neat with the portholes to the pool, this unique bar was featured in the Movie anger management.

Pros
One of the few, if not only hotel, that has direct beach access and a pool right on the beach
Nice little kiddie area away form the rough waves for your little ones
Nice gym
Relaxing, good service from the cabana boys

Cons
Long walk if you are staying in the building across the street and have kids
Rooms aren't as fancy as a typical Sheraton

I was solo this trip, but I am always scouting out spots to return to with hubby and kiddos. Would I stay here again with my family if in Fort Lauderdale? Yes. but the ocean is rough.

There is a restaurant across the street that sits on the waterfront of the harbor called Bahia Cabana , food was decent, nice view, good value but nothing fancy. Other than that, you will have to walk just shy of a mile or drive. I had a car and got some food at a grocery store for lunch/breakfast which I kept in fridge, then went out to eat at night. Really liked the Royal PIg near downtown and the Las Olas dining/ shopping district.
