My family and I stayed here the night before our cruise. Facilities and location are very good. Close access to a variety of places to eat and only a 10 min drive to Port Everglades. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The breakfast is very good, much better than I expected to be honest and the staff were fantastic as well. Only one minor issue was the air conditioner in the room had a slight musty smell, but that could be the humidity in the air. It's a very popular hotel, had a number of people trying to checking but it was booked out.

My husband and I (early 30s) stayed here the night before our Holland America cruise. It took a while for the free airport shuttle to pick us up, but nothing extreme. There is a trolley stop right in front that only charges 50 cents per person per ride. This takes can take you all the way to the beach or mall. We liked that the hotel was a short walk to the drawbridge overlooking the cruise port (great first sights of our ship). There was a Walgreen's less than a block away for picking up forgotten supplies (don't wait until last minute though because these guys were unreasonably slow).

They had a pretty standard continental breakfast included. The room itself was fine, but nothing too memorable.

The front desk was helpful with holding our luggage until check-in and setting up a ride to the cruise port in the morning (cost extra). One of the staff recommended a nice restaurant (Bimini Boatyard) that was a short walk across the street but not immediately obvious from just looking around outside.

The only thing I didn't like about the hotel was that the luggage holding area didn't feel very secure (no claim checks and no supervision of room). Everything was where we left it though, so no harm done.

In the end, we'd definitely stay here again before a cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale.

vanitysvial,
Thank you so much for sharing your recent experience with others. It's so nice to hear that all went well during your stay. Your comments are greatly appreciated and we take each one serious. Currently guests are offered the option to temporarily store their luggage into our boardroom while waiting on their room. This room is secure and can only be opened by staff.
Our location is absolutely the best for all travelers as we are just blocks from the cruise port and convention center; minutes from the Fort Lauderdale airport and the beach! I will be sure and share your comments with our Team. Again, thank you and we hope to have you stay with us again soon!
Warmest regards,
Gloria Williams

Hubby and I drove down to Fort Lauderdale on 12.21 for one night before our cruise. It was about a five hour drive from Tampa, including our stop in Ellenton to grab a bite to eat at the Waffle House. Had a really wonderful cheese steak omelet - fluffiest ever! Traffic wasn't bad and MapQuest took us right to the hotel. Knew we were in the right place when I walked in and met Everett, who so many have written about here on TA. And guess what...everyone is right...Everett is absolutely wonderful! Actually, the overall customer service experience at this hotel was quite extraordinary all the way around. This is a basic hotel, in an amazing location. Within one block of Walgreens, many dining options within easy walking distance (listed below), 1.5 blocks to the 17th street bridge (great for watching sailaways and taking photos of the cruise ships), Water Taxi pick up. When we arrived we settled in and then took a stroll to the bridge to look at the ships and take photos. From there we walked down the stairs at the bottom of the bridge and went to the Hilton for dockside drinks. A short stroll after that and we were at the Bimini Boat Yard, which was awesome! Great happy hour and beautiful location. We sat outside and enjoyed the lovely atmosphere. Great service and food...we had 2 glasses of wine, 1 beer, 2 happy hour appetizers and our tab was under $16 before tax and tip. We wandered back to the hotel, through the shopping plaza (drooling over the Burgher Yacht models on display..better win that lotto and quick!). The hotel was really quiet, despite being nearly full with many kids. We watched movies, I had a nice long bath with a glass of wine and my book, and got a good night's sleep (very comfortable mattress). Slept in until 7:30, thanks to the hotel being so quiet. Went down to the breakfast buffet - coffees, teas, juices, milks (wish they offered whole milk...and Splenda), cereals, breads, bagels, muffins, bananas, pastries, pancakes, cheese omelet, good sausage, biscuits and gravy. The buffet was well attended to and constantly refreshed. Gloria, the manager, was present and interacting with the guests - GREAT customer service! Free Wi-Fi at this hotel by the way...very nice!

When packing, I forgot 2 of my hubby's medications. No problem as we use Walgreens, and all I had to do was call over there and get 5 days worth. We walked down to Walgreens (with 8 ships in port, everything was really busy - lots and lots of crew members at Walgreens). From there we walked to Starbucks so I could get my iced tea (again, lots of crew members taking advantage of the Wi-Fi). Strolled down to the light to see what all was around. Back to the room to pack up and get the shuttle. The 12:30 shuttle actually was early and we were pulling out of the lot by 12:20. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone needing a place to stay that is sooo convenient to so many things. Don't hesitate to book! (PS - if you read the previous review that talks about someone having "black feet" after walking barefoot...I made a point of checking both my hubby's and my feet after the entire evening of walking barefoot in the room...our feet were perfectly clean!) One funny story is that I mistook the conditioner for lotion and used it after my bath... worked great! Ha! Smelled wonderful too. :-)

Thanks to all the wonderful staff we encountered during our stay for making things extra special.

Things within easy walking distance:

Food: Carrabba's - same side of street, 1/2 block west
Across street - 2 Italian places, Einstein, Starbucks, Panera, Shula Burger, Chipotle, Pei Wei, sushi, NY Deli, Bimini Boat Yard, Japanese @ Hilton
Grocery: Publix, Winn Dixie
Also: Total Wine, Walgreens, Crown Liquor, Water Taxi, Bus Stop just outside hotel.

Pre cruise stay. Free shuttle from the airport...busy but there are waves of people arriving so understandable. Had to pay for a shuttle to the terminal but it's fairly close. There are dozens of restaurants in walking distance plus Walgreens, Starbucks and a shopping centre. We had dinner at CarrAba's there is no onsite restaurant. Hot/Cold breakfast buffet is included...it's just fine. Lobby is very small otherwise good option pre cruise.

We stayed at this hotel one night before going on a cruise. Very nice and polite staff. The room was very nice although we had a view on a very close wall...minor detail since we were not there for a long while. The breakfast was nice, but the room a bit small for all the clients that were trying to eat at the same time. Other than that, we appreciated our stay and would come back.

Manxcats68,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your recent experience with others. It's nice to know that all went well during your stay. Our breakfast hours have been extended to 6:30am-9:30am weekend and 6:30am- 10am weekend to allow guests to be more time before coming down for breakfast...before 9am would probably be the less busiest time to enjoy breakfast. Also, thank you for your kind words of compliment regarding our staff. They strive daily to provide all guests with the excellent service they expect and deserve while staying with us. We certainly hope to have you back with us soon!
