Returned from 7 days in this great property, which is literally next store to the high end Ritz Carlton. After reading some reviews, I was a bit nervous. We had a beautiful 2 bdrm villa on the 17th floor-great tip to ask for the Intercoastal Waterway views. We loved the water/city/sunset view each night. Parking was well marked, and we always found a spot quickly once we wound our way up to the Marriott levels (P-4 & 5). Elevator waits were not a big deal, and we actually rode the service elevator a few times, thanks to the crew who made space for us.

The remodel going on didn't interfere with our experience at all. Loved the location, a short walk to the beautiful beach out front. Get to the pool/towel shack by 8 if you want to borrow a beach chair/umbrella. Appreciated the TA tips on parking, views. We benefitted from them and really enjoyed this property. Loved the 24 CVS for last minute needs. We'll be back!

Room Tip: Intercoastal Waterway Views allow a view the sunset each night so either side of this property works...

This place has become our second home for many reasons: great location, excellent beach, and super comfortable rooms! Children have a place to play, the swimming pool area is attractive, the little market is helpful and all of the stores, restaurants and cafes in the area make the place even more inviting!

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent! Ocean view the best!

This is a great resort at a wonderful location. Though we were told there were renovations going on, we didn't experience any problems with it. We actually didn't even see anything going on, probably because it was a holiday weekend. The only slight issue, is that the elevators are kinda slow, but it wasn't that big of a deal.

We had a King Room with a pullout sleep sofa and a small kitchenette on the 6th floor, ocean view. What a beautiful view it was! We were directly above the pool as well. The room was nice and clean and the beds (even the sofa bed) were very comfortable. The kitchenette made it great for holding drinks and snacks and we were even able to cook in our microwave. They also provide plates, cups, silverware etc, like any timeshare. I know they have bigger suites with full kitchens as well, but this one worked out well for us.

They had many activities at the resort itself including salsa lessons, top chef competition and lots to do for the kids. The kids activities room was a hit with our 5 year old grandson.

The pool area is large and clean and has lots of seating. They have a pool bar that also serves some food/lunch items. There are 2 hot tubs and a splash pad for the kids. Pool towels are provided and there is even a bathroom/locker room with a sauna and showers.

The hotel is located over the Beachplace mall which has lots of shops, bars and food options. It can get noisy at night, but being on the 6th floor, we didn't hear a peep. It is also right across the street from the beautiful Ft. Lauderdale Beach.

Parking in the hotel garage (P4 & P5) cost $14 per night. If you have more than 1 car, you can use the mall garage which runs $25 per night. Parking is a premium on the beach, so it is to be expected. All staff members we encountered where cordial and helpful.

For the 4th, the resort offered lots of activites out by the pool including a live band and food and drinks and games for adults and kids. We had a ball by the pool and then went over the beach where the City of Ft. Lauderdale puts on a great event right on the beach. You can't get a better spot for fireworks than right on the pool deck or up on the 19th floor lounge. We would have also had a spectatular view right from our room balcony.

We didn't go, but we heard there is a trolley that would take you down to Las Olas, which had lots of other shopping and dining options as well.

Overall it was an excellent stay and we would defineatley go back.

Room Tip: Ocean side views are awesome, but I heard the canal views were nice too.

I just returned from a 4 night stay with my family at the BeachPlace Towers on Ft. Lauderdale Beach. I read the reviews so I knew what to expect regarding the slow elevators, construction, and 4th of July crowds. Even if I hadn't been doing my homework on TA, the property sent me an email warning about the slow elevators/construction, instructions on how to find the property and planning for the crowds during 7/4 celebration. AND I got a phone call from guest services two days before my trip. Room: We had a 1 BR villa on the 4th floor, oceanside. The view was spectacular. There were 3 adults and one toddler and we had more than enough space for everyone to be comfortable. You could hear the music from the pool and beach place restaurants, but it didn't bother us as it didn't occur late at night. There were always plenty of towels, and the room was cleaned every day. The AC wasn't working properly when we arrived but we reported it and it was fixed in 20 minutes. The water supply was dingy - you could see it when you ran a bath or when the toilet filled. Not sure that the property can do anything about that, but it's worth noting. Balcony was spacious - overlooked the pool and was the best seat in the house for the fireworks on 7/4. The slow elevators did suck, but we were warned. Ammenities: The pool was nice, though a bit small. The team at the pool bar was great, everyone was very friendly and bent over backwards to accomodate us. I didn't check out the kids club but I heard good things. Nice workout facilities with steam and sauna in the locker rooms. The market onsite was great for small things and CVS is also downstairs for more supplies. The beach - beautiful, but crowded probably due to the holiday weekend. Lawn chairs and umbrellas were available on a first come, first served basis. This was my only issue with the resort. They need to invest in chaise lounges (not lawn chairs!) and umbrellas for all guests. Two per room should be included at a minimum for what you pay to stay there. We ended up having to pay one of the beach vendors to rent chairs and umbrellas. Then he came and took them everyday around 4:30 when we would've prefered to stay on the beach until 6. There were lots of bars/restaurants within walking distance so there was no need to rent a car. Check in/Check out was smooth. No issues with the front desk - I'm not an owner and I didn't feel slighted in any way. I would definitely stay there again, and once they finish the renovations and get more beach equipment, would give it a five star review.

We have stayed before at this hotel, having the canals as our view, so we did not hesitate to stay again.
We knew beforehand, by reading other reviews that the hotel was under renovation and that the elevators were a nightmare.
We got a BRAND NEW 2 bdr/2 bath suite on the very top floor overlooking the canals. The decor was top notch, although the chairs in the main unit were the "old" ones and did go with anything and the tile should have been changed to wood laminate.
It was like staying at the Ritz next door - it was THAT beautiful
It was being at home. We even had a dinner and invited my pseudo brother and his wife and had a BLAST
The elevators were horrible but we knew about them...
The staff as always SUPERB - I took my 5yr old to the kids activities room and they made her over, make-up and nails - and she was super duper happy
The pool is small but if you're at the beach, why use the pool? But it came in handy when we came from out outings in order to refresh an overheated family before dinner
The pros - superb accommodations, near everything even a 24hr CVS downstairs
The cons - expensive daily parking, nightlife not for families
We will definitely come again, and again

Room Tip: Ask for views of the cannals

After reading some of the reviews I was apprehensive about coming here. However, they did give us a newly remodeled room which is FANTASTIC. It's on a higher floor on the intercoastal side and is VERY quiet. The checkin service was great! The only thing to remember is that you can't pull in front of the hotel and check in. You do need to follow their directions to the parking garage and you do have to roll your luggage to the elevators to the hotel lobby and check in. The elevators weren't that slow but it is a Thursday afternoon. The pool area is great and it's VERY close to the beach with free chairs / umbrellas. There are numerous eating establishments / stores within walking distance. I love it because you have a view of the ocean and intercoastal waterway from this hotel. We will stay here again!

Room Tip: Ask for newly remodeled and if you want quiet - intercoastal side.

1 bedroom villa was great for family of 4! Cant beat the location its in the middle of everything! We had a kitchen so didn't mind that the splash bar wasn't open til 11 had lunch there everyday service was a little slow as it was busy! they should have a larger bar with another bar tender staff was very nice ! drinks were fab! food was pretty good! view was awesome! never had to look for a lounge chair at the pool which is a major plus in my book! Elevators sucked but they are in the midst of renovating and we were told in advance this would be an issue...parking umm for the price not bad..we stayed at the W last year and it was like $38 a night there 14$ was a fair price Noticed a lot more security this year at the beach place shops which was very comforting! all in all we will definitely stay here again! price location cant beat it!

Room Tip: Ocean front villas are the way to go!
