We stayed at BeachPlace Towers for our UMass Amherst spring break and we couldn't have had a better location! Just a short cab ride from the airport, this hotel had Ft. Lauderdale beach right across the street... tons of restaurants and shops right in the hotel complex... a nail salon, Fat Tuesday (great frozen drinks!), Hooters, LuLu's Bait Shack, 24 hour CVS with food and beer... couldn't have been more convenient! LuLus was a great spot for lunch, dinner, drinks, karaoke, contests, and live music. Our hotel was a 2 room suite, with balconies overlooking the water! The rooms were very clean and huge! Washer and dryer along with a kitchen in our unit made our week long stay easy. Onsite at the hotel were a few great hot tubs and a pool that was great for relaxing post-beach. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a convenient and fun getaway in the sun, and we can't wait to stay again!

We stayed at this hotel for one night pre-cruise, and it far exceeded our expectations.
The one bedroom villa was spotless clean, decor was elegant, king size bed comfy, tub with jets, full kitchen with microwave, fridge, dishwasher, glassware, washer/dryer,porch overlooking beach with a fantasitc view. Plenty of nightlife/restaurants within walking distance as well as the beach across the street. Would definatley stay here again.
Front desk staff was friendly and helpful when checking in and out.

We traveled to the Marriott back in may for a family vacation. The hotel was very nice. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The location was amazing, we were right across from the beach. Every morning my husband and I got up and ran along the beach it was amazing. The workout room was small and always over crowded so running outside was the only choice. They have a nice pool and even games for kids. They have a ping pong table which we had fun tournaments on. The concierge was very helpful in picking places to go and restaurants to eat at. There is also a trolley that comes for a dollar to take you places which is nice. We would stay there again.

I recently stayed at the Marriott Beachplace. The location is excellent, right at the beach. There was a very nice pool and jacuzzi. Close to all the great places on the strip. The only downside was the fact that you had to go up 3 floors in the garage to get to the main entrance. That wasn't very convenient, especially for cab drivers as neither they nor I knew where the entrance was when they dropped us off and we had to call the hotel to be told we had to pull into the garage and go up 3 floors to the main entrance.

We stayed at Beach Place the last week of Sept. The condo surpassed our expectations. Nice furniture, super views of the beach/ocean. The only time we had slow elevators was on checkin day at 4 pm when everyone was arriving. I do not know what some people expect but we thought it was really nice. Very few people were even in the pool area at any given time. The spas were great. WHAT A VIEW! Parking garage: ALL the nice resorts on the ocean front have paking garages. Where else would you park, land is so scarce just for a parking lot. We were oceanfront and heard no noise from the businesses at Beach Place. Close to everything. Be sure to take the Water Taxi. We paid $10 for an all day pass. Lots of fun and you see all the mansions and yachts. The place is safe. We had to use our key card to get the elevator to go to our floor. Try it, you'll love it!

We were almost afraid to go to Mariott's Beach Place Towers after some of the reviews. BELIEVE ME- the place was great. Ok, parking is a pain (bring a collapsible cart to help with your stuff), but check-in was good, the condo was wonderful. Views of the Intracoastal were beautiful, very relaxing at night. Couldn't ask for more.
The pool is a little small, but there are more than enough chairs. Never too crowded to get in the water. Access to the beach was fine - the elevators were never a problem ( they aren't high speed, but then, you ARE on vacation. We enjoyed having the store and restaurants on the property. Lulu's had great food, CVS was great to have close by, they have more than you can imagine. We traded our time share for this place. All in all a great vacation!!

I was very indecisive about where I was staying in FLL, but I had a Marriott rewards gift card from my credit card so I choose Beach Place Towers. Now mind you I somewhat knew the resort already as I had been down there before, and had my bachelor party dinner a few years back at non-other than HOOTERS in the 2nd Floor. Thats right, guys and gals, you've got a Hooters as well as many other restaurants connected to the hotel! What's better that that?

We splurged ($170 night) and got the full 1BR villa, it wasamazing. This place was huge with two sides, about 800Sq ft with a very big balcony as well. Odd thing is that we arrived early (10am) were planing on begging and pleading for an early check and it wasn't needed - they just let us in! Nice, what a wonderful start to the VACA. The room was recently updated and featured lcd tv's, full kitchen, new appliances and a washer and dryer.

The little general store in the base of the lobby is actually NOT a great place to stock up on items. I understand a profit but 13 bucks for a 6 pack of BUD. $20 for a 750ml bottle of wine. (YELLOW TAIL, usually $9) But hey, if you really need something it is there for you. Be sure to check the web for store credits, we were granted 40 bucks a day that we used on 13 dollar 6 packs and 9 dollar buttered rolls.... (It's free, who cares!) Room has free WIFI which I used and enjoyed too.

I like the fact that if you don't want to go "out-out" one night but you do want to grab a bite or have a drink there is that little mall of restaurants connected to the hotel. It's very convenient. There is a cool little lounge for all guests on the top floor with amazing views. Grab a drink and head up there! Sometimes there is even a managers reception with free soft drinks and snacks. Be sure to ask.

Pool was small, but fine. Expect some kids at the resort, which doesn't bother us but be warned. Is the place trendy, sexy and sophisticated? No, but it's basic, reasonably priced, and you get larger, more well-equipped rooms. Location cant be beat, either. You are right at Las Olas Blvd so you can get into downtown quick and easy for nightlife or shopping.

We also walked up to the new W right up the block...amazing. Go have a drink there you will love it, a real cool place. A place to see and be seen. (I hate that term but occasionally use it, sorry)

Promise me you will do one thing:

Take the water taxi (stop is 2 blocks away) into downtown, preferably around dusk. It's a really nice ride and you'll see some mega mansions and yachts that will knock your socks off. We aren't talked one or two million dollar homes, try 10 and 15M. The Water taxi beats a sweaty cab anyday, in my opinion. If you have time, check out the Seminole Hardrock Resort and Casino about 20min away in Hollywood. Amazing spot not just for gaming but for partying and shopping. Want a good casual bite on the water. Try the Backyard Bar at the Days in Bahia Cabana. (hotel sucks but the restaurant is famous)

Ohh and a quick last note about parking. First off the rate ($13 or so..) is "fair," not high enough to anger me but I would have liked it a bit lower. Everyone goes on about how complicated and long it is to get to the Marriott level. Yeah it's on level five and may be it takes 3 minutes to drive up there but these people make like they have never parked in an indoor, multi tiered lot before. It's not that bad...

Enjoy,
KC
