“Come See the Manatee”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

Manatee Park is worth the visit. Manatee's are incredible animals and interesting to watch and learn about. They have a very humanistic aspect to them and they are colossal animals to watch. In late fall through early Spring, the Manatee's travel up river to the park and reside there for the Winter because of the warmth of the water. Viewing is quite good at the park and the park in general is well maintained. You might catch a glimpse of an Alligator while you are there, as well as, many native birds. The Park is well laid out and offers quite a bit of information on Manatees and the other wild life that you may encounter. The only real cost is the parking and that is nominal. Canoeing and Kayaking rentals are available also if you have a desire go get up close and personal with the Manatee. Over-all, a very nice way to spend half of a day while learning about Manatees and the environment at the same time.

“Must see the Manatees”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

These are truly amazing mammals, and to be able to see them in their own habitat, without any barriers should be seen when you come to visit. They're so gentle & peaceful to watch.

“Great place to visit.”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

Visit the Park early as it can become crowded esp. with schoolbusses and field trips. Best time is the morning following a cool evening. The water in this area is warmer and there is usually an increase in the numbers of Manatee to see. There are canoe/kayak rentals available and snacks in the park. Take your camera and try to get some pics. We usually visit a number of times during our stay in Florida.

“Surprisingly enjoyable”
Reviewed 24 November 2013

Realizing that manatees swim underwater I was surprised that we actually got to see some - at least their snouts, tails and backs.
For some reason I guess they were particularly active, they seemed to be playing.
The best part of Manatee Park is it free - except you must pay to park. Don't forget
this little detail unless you want to get a parking ticket.
You can take a pleasant walk around the grounds too.
Here and there you will find posters, drawings and diagrams about manatee anatomy
and behavior.
