“Great place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 August 2012

Clean rooms, can't beat the price. The front desk manager, Lauren, was awesome! She is such a pleasant person to talk to and she always has a smile on her face. Great location, shopping mall was within walking distance. Good restraints near by, I'd recommend the elephant bar. Would definitely stay here again!

The rooms had bed bugs, and ants. The toilet was broken, and moldy. The condiments were obviously not new and were just refilled. The Staff should be fired or at the very least given classes on customer relations. Each encounter with the staff was frustrating.

The most frustrating thing was when i checked in I had to provide ID, and the receptionist made a copy. I asked why and was told it is policy, I asked how long it was kept, and was told it is shredded when tou check out. When I checked out I was told it had to remain on file - - translation - we are going to sell your information to solicitors. I complained and the manager (who was Extermely nasty) told me it was the hotel policy. I explained the hotel does not have the legal right to maintain my ID. I further stated that i would issue a contract which would state they would legally responsible for any Identity theft and if they signed it I would be satisfied. The Nasty woman took the copy of my ID in the back and made a copy.

S0!!! if you can stay somewhere else, You should. I am still itching from the Bed bugs.

Room Tip: stay somewhere else

Enjoyed our stay, fast check in, room was clean and good for the price. Walking distance to good places to eat. Walked to Mel's diner, Hurricanes bar is next door. Pool area was nice to lay around. Breakfast was really busy but was maintained well. Beach is 20 minute drive. Outlets are close by. I will come back in may on memorial day weekend.

The friendly staff smiles didn't remove the pain and itching of bed bug bites we experienced. We discovered and killed the apple seed size critter crawling across our mattress on the second day of our stay. We reported the event to the front desk and later requested a room price adjustment after we got back home. We waited and waited for promised phone calls. The owner was supposed to telephone us, but we waited about one week and he/she never did. The manager also was supposed to return our telephone calls to resolve billing concerns, but didn't follow through in a timely manner. We had to pester management. That apparent irresponsibility led us to wonder if the hotel took our bed bug complaint seriously. We don't want others to experience bed bugs or improperly cleaned rooms anywhere. We have photos of the bites as further evidence. We haven't had similar negative experience at any other Travelodge Hotel. The breakfast room also was understaffed. Too many tables and people for one staff individual to manage. Breakfast items often missing and not replenished in a timely manner.

We checked in, went to our room and immediately decided there was no way we were going to stay there. Maybe the main part of the hotel/motel is ok but they had us in another building behind there. It was dark in the hallway and the room smelled horrible. The sink was cracked and nothing about the room seemed clean. Luckily we found another place to stay.

We arrived in Fort Myers on the President's Day long weekend and the beach hotels were booked up and swarming with traffic. This Travelodge is on the 6 lane main commercial thoroughfare and traffic was heavy but at least the road is designed for that and the hotel itself made our stay in Fort Myers an enjoyable one. It is very clean and modern with a wonderful pool area far removed from the traffic. We met some very nice couples around the pool. The room was large and well equipped with appliances. The service was very good and they promptly corrected a billing mistake which I was partly to blame for. Though the hotel is fairly close to the airport it is located just far enough away that we were never bothered by jet noise. Had it not been the long weekend the hotel would have also provided us with fairly easy access to the beaches and there is a lot of restaurants, bars and stores close by. It wasn't an idyllic beachfront stay for us but at $48 a night on a long weekend we could not complain in any way.
