We went here on the recommendation of my parents that there was plenty of shelling that could be done on this beach. The beach was a quick tram ride away (still have the option of walking). The tram is a lifesaver when you are dragging kids and beach toys with you. We opted to rent beach chairs on the beach which are $8 each for the day. You can also rent umbrellas if you need to. The kids were delighted by the seashells, the warm water and the little fish you can see swimming in the ocean. There were some people fishing off the beach too.

We had a really lovely time there! Watch that sun though- we put sunscreen on twice an hour and still ended up with a little sunburn. But some ice cream from the shop on the way out was a perfect way to end our beach trip!

LKSP has a great beach. The water is so much cleaner and nicer than Ft Myers beach. The sunset here was amazing but do watch out for the microscopic mosquitoes (noseeums) that come out after dusk. They do bite so bring bug spray. Otherwise, a great place to hang out for the family.

A wonderful place to visit with a stunning beach and super clear waters. An ideal place for young and old.

Second time we visited. The main parking lot ($8) was full at noon when we arrived, so we thought the beach might be crowded. There's a free tram that can deliver you right to the southern part of the beach, but we walked straight ahead and found plenty of space on that section of sand. The water didn't look like it was affected by the fresh water discharges further north in Ft Myers and Sanibel, and we didn't notice any traves of algae blooms or fish kills.

Nice sand to walk on, very warm mild Gulf water, just do the sting ray shuffle when wading. All the facilities at this portion of the beach are back at the parking lot where they have food, a gift shop, restrooms and "excursions" sign ups.

Look for birds and manatees on the 1/4 mile walk to the beach, We saw a huge osprey with a rather large catch at treetop level.

This was a very cool park. It was well manicured and the beach was great. The water was much clearer than our hotel beach only a few miles north. The tram ride to the beach was our kids favorite part.
