We booked on Tuesday Nov 28/17 in the morning for that night, as a celebratory date night for my wife's retirement. We then spent the day at Sanibel, checking in at 4. The place is clean and quiet although the carpets slightly show their age. The clerk was polite, friendly and helpful. She gave us room 401. It faced east overlooking the bay and the balcony became a highlight with the warm soft easterly breeze. The suite was nicely appointed, clean, quiet, and very comfortable. My only quibble is that a cross-breeze/ventilation isn't possible since none of the windows open.
We made extensive use of the pool and hot tub - very enjoyable.
A quiet night, and as is usual for me I spent my insomnia 2 a.m. hour on the balcony watching a yellow crowned night heron hunting the shoreline below, and an osprey flying overhead.
We watched the sunrise from the balcony, reminding us of our canoe trips, without the bugs!
We asked for a 1 p.m. checkout and the clerk was happy to oblige so we went over the the state park for the morning.
We spent another hour in the pool and hot tub before checking out. Then we went into Flippers (the accompanying restaurant) for lunch.
Summary: a great night out.More
