We recently stayed at the Sandpiper Gulf Resort Feb 15-19. We booked a beach view room , and really enjoyed the view from the balcony. It was nice having the rental company in front of the resort. We rented beach chairs every day, and went parasailing, and rented a wave runner one day. Beautiful beach and weather was perfect. Estero Blvd was bumper to bumper most afternoons, and early evening. We had a wonderful vacation.

Room Tip: Beach view was worth it.

We stayed at the Sandpiper for our anniversary the week of Valentines day. It was great! This was our second time staying there and I wa much better. The last time we were down, the carpets were in need of a cleaning and the air conditioner seemed to be failing because there was a humid feel in the room....but we were right on the beach so it's to be expected. The room we had this time was renovated and was great! We will definetly be back.. We were told upon arriving about the rentals available on the beach. Chairs for a great price and jet ski rentals if you are so inclined...I did witness one guest being extremely rude to the beach attendant because he didn't understand why the chairs were rentals....so just be aware EVERYTHING isn't free. Lol. They do have coffee downstairs available if you want to take a walk on the beach in the morning. We loved staying on this part of the beach, it's a great location. The staff was pleasant and helpful. See you next time!

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the beach!

We recently stayed at the sandpiper gulf resort feb 8-15. Tho location was excellent for everything in the fort myers beach area... We got a great rate and enjoyed our stay there .. We had a pool view that also had partial ocean view ... Sunsets from our balcony were gorgeous. If I had any critique, it would be no dishwasher and limited counter space to cook... There was a note saying dishes were not sterilized, I would assume because there was no dishwasher.. The room was a bit outdated, but again for the price, it was satisfactory.. It was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful !!! We wish we were able to stay a extra week

My husband and I stayed at the Sandpiper for one week. The resort is located toward the south end of the island and is away from the busyness of the north end. We would recommend renting bikes because Estero Blvd. is always busy and it's hard to get around with a car. There is a tram service, but we found it does not run on time, which is understandable due to the traffic. We stayed in a king suite beach view unit in the high tower. Our only criticism would be that the rooms are a little dated and could be updated, but we were told they are working on this. Our balcony overlooked the adult pool and the beach. We were extremely satisfied with our stay as we loved being right on the beach, the grounds were well-kept, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely return!

My husband and I stayed Feb. 2014. Rooms had full kitchens and sitting area plus a patio. Only steps to a gorgeous beach with watersports rentals on the property. Two nice pools, one for adults only which was peaceful. Excellent experience and highly recommend. The only criticism I have is the traffic along Ft. Meyers beach is horrible in February.

After reading all the wonderful reviews we booked three nights for late January. We had a beach front room with a wonderful view of the beach which is the only nice thing I can say about our room. The place is outdated and badly in need of new carpet and drapes and beds. Both double beds were uncomfortable the mattress pad was old and would not stay on the bed. The front of the cupboards in the little kitchen area were sticky and dirty. The dishes in the cupboard were the same I rewashed the ones we used. The second night we were there we saw a rat in the pool. When there is one rat I am sure there are more. we asked for a refund for our last night, the staff were very nice about it and promptly granted our request. Ft Meyers beach is crowded and the traffic is horrible. Overall poor experience. Save your money and go up to Punta Gorda and stay in one of the beautiful hotels on the Charlotte Harbor we did and it was wonderful.

Room Tip: Just keep driving

We booked 4 nights at the Sandpiper on fairly short notice. Our unit was a ground floor beachfront room. There were 2 double beds, which in future we will avoid as it was just too small for comfort. The kitchen area is small, there were 2 burners, a microwave and a full size fridge. It is better equipped for snack preparation rather than full meal preparation.

The best feature was large patio with 2 loungers, 2 chairs and 2 side tables. (Upper units had only 2 chairs and one table.) Though, during most of the day there would be little shade on the patio.

We found that the drapes could do with a good washing and that the area under the beds are infrequently vacuumed.

The beach is wonderful, great for walking and shell collecting.
