Short hike from Best Western down the beach. Saw so much while there! Gopher tortoises, starfish, crabs, a raccoon and the usual birds from the area. It is a peaceful and natural area but has paths through wooded and open beach areas. Definitely will go back again. If you enjoy exploring nature it is a must see!

We stayed on Fort Myers Beach near Lover's Key. We took a late afternoon/evening trip to Bowditch. It was a beautiful place to see a sunset. We found lots of really cool shells on the beach and there were lots of different types of birds for people who like nature. There are bathrooms and picnic areas where you can grill. We liked it so much we went back another evening for a walk and to watch the sunset.

Nothing outstanding about this beach park - its just another beach park. No vending machines - there were restrooms.

Anyone who's been to Fort Myers Beach during the busy season knows how crowded it can get. Bowditch Point Park is a welcome escape from the masses. Kudos to the folks who preserved this small piece of prime real estate from being developed. I walked through early in the morning and pretty much had it to myself. A couple of trails lead to small sections of beach that are very private. There was a dolphin slowly swimming by quite close to shore. This would be a great place to bring young kids. I guess the only downfall is the limited parking, but it's an easy walking distance from anywhere north of the pier.
