Great location. Steps from the beach. The staff and owners are friendly. They are great. It is clean. The store had reasonably priced souvenirs. They have scooters for rent at a reasonable price. Just great overall. I will definitely stay here again. I am already scheduling another stay.

Very disappointing with our experience here & paid the peak season price! I’m not sure if they are new to the business but not having enough sheets and towels (pretty basic stuff) is not acceptable. When I mentioned it to the housekeeper the morning following our arrival her response was that they had to clean them all after a large check out the day we arrived. Unbelievable. We had to have our teenage daughter sleep with us in the queen bed because there were not sheets for the futon and then only 2 towels for the shower the next morning. The website says this unit sleeps 4 however I have no idea how they figure this? I guess you could pull the futon open for 2pp but then you would not be able to get through the tiny hall way its located in – A very awkward set up for this one bedroom and one bath and very little natural lighting made it feel dark not helpful in the bad weather we had. The unit next door was twice as big where my mom stayed, same price with one bed , one bath with at least a large area to congregate. Both were ground floor and very low ceilings that most people would not be comfortable with. No hand soap in the larger one bedroom – when my mom asked about more sheets they said they were in the unit however they were not (was a bed pad an one sheet) for 2 futons. The larger 2 bed, 2 bath upstairs I didn’t really see much but it was at least a better set up all around with high ceilings, lots of light and big area to congregate. They had 9 people in the room with 7 of them kids ranging from 5 to 18. Someone made a comment to my mom about having 9pp in this unit when its says max 8 - really? More than one kid slept on the floor and its not because they wouldn’t have been willing to bunk together. I don’t think it even has enough beds to sleep 8! They day of arrival the large family unlike us were given keys even though my mom the rentee was not in town yet…they turned me down when I asked to get in earlier in the day. I will end with the owner seemed nice enough and on the surface they seemed to want to please but they fell seriously short in so many ways. And it is not on the beach…there is a bar in front of it before you get to the beach and serious parking issues.
I dont normally rant but this place was bad.

Room Tip: if you have to rent go for the 2 bedroom.

My friends and I stayed here for a night and loved the place. We rented out two of the ground floor units. We really liked:
* The staff! Super friendly and accomodating to what you want or need
* The rooms were walkouts - no waiting for elevators or walking down hallways
* Kitchenettes in the rooms (not that we used them) and the space. We stayed in room#1 that had one bedroom plus two futons in the living room (I think this is their second largest room). Made for a great meeting place. In room#2, it was a little smaller and was more typical to a hotel room as far a spaciousness goes but still had kitchenette.
* Location! It literally is about 10 steps away from the Beach Pub which is a bar right on the beach. It made for easy access to the beach and also even access to get our first cocktail. We also walked the beach area and some other bars and such and found the location of the Gypsy to be walking distance to anything in Fort Myers Beach. Parking is a little tight here but then there isn't a lot of other people staying here either due to not that many rooms.

Overall, it was our first time in Fort Myers and we are lucky to have stumbled across the Sea Gypsy. Can't wait to get back and for sure will be staying here again!

Just came for an overnight get away. I was so pleased with EVERYTHING. We were greeted by our hosts. Our room was very clean and had everything we could need. Just a short walk to the beach. The manager was so accommodating to our two pugs. Yes, they are dog friendly. VERY helpful in helping us pick our dining experience . In all, I can't wait to go back. This will be our FAV place to go.

Room Tip: This is a small place, but each and every room is better than the next.

Don't stay here we stayed in Novermber 2013 there is only 1air conditioner for 2 rooms, the bedroom so so HOT you could't sleep, when we said something to the manager he told us there is a fan you can use, night 2 was worse slept on a fouton in the main room that was not comfortable, we planned on staying 4 nights, due to the lack of sleep we left, they didn't offer us any compensation for the 2 nights. The rates are reasonable in you don't mind no AC.

Scott, Jackie and Bruiser are the greatest! We pretty much took over the inn for a week with various family members and had the best time. Great location, CLEAN, full kitchens and a short walk to the beach. Owners and manager were a big help for restaurant and entertainment suggestions and the little wading pool was so much fun. August in Florida can be unbearable but we really had a good time.

My wife and I stayed there at the beginning of June 2013 and had a great time. We loved our room and the people that took over the property around the end of 2012 are the best. Scott and Jackie are top notch owners and hosts. In fact everyone that we encountered there was nice as could be and very helpful. When you stay there if you need anything including ideas of what to do or where to eat just ask. They all go above and beyond to make sure people enjoy their stay. We live across the state on the east coast and look forward to returning. It's the place to be in Ft. Meyers Beach and is walking distance from most everywhere.

No need to look any further for the best place to stay and enjoy.
