Carousel Inn on the Beach

We recommend to make sure that the deal you find on Trip Advisor is actually less than if you call the hotel yourself. We also stayed in room 131. We agree with the prior good reviews and review of room 131. The tiki bar next door is open to you and closes at a decent hour. All the rooms looked okay. The ocean view with the porch looked the best. Parking was great. Store was down the street, liquor store opposite direction down the street. restaurant across the street was excellent. casual dress to dressy okay. Beach was Awesome. The pool is clean and gives you what you need if you need a break from the ocean. we recommend a visit to the Lovers Key. Use the Tram. It has everything you need and we saw Manatees. It It was lovely. We rented a car from fox. It went well. Eat at Nervous Nelly. Lots of shells to look at here. Great walking beach. We were very happy with The carousel and location to visit Fort Myers for the first time. We went in May. not very crowded. Sting ray warnings. They were everywhere so we did alot of shallow wading and trying to not step on one and learned the shuffle walk. But the best is walking at low tide. this area is amazing for that and you can walk for miles. No nudes on the beach. People of all ages. You can bike on the beach. some dog walkers in the morning. the Carousel has people with pets. No bugs in our room. We are very happy we took a chance on The Carousel due to our budget.

We stayed at the Carousel Inn recently for our second honeymoon. Location was wonderful with the Inn being literally right on the beach. We had a beach front room, ground level so were able to sit outside in the evenings and watch the ocean. Note that the beach here is extremely wide and the ocean is a bit of a walk but well worth it! The room was very clean when we arrived and definitely spacious. We stayed 4 nights and after the first day we found that housekeeping was a little lax in the bathroom. It was wonderful to have the kitchenette, however the small stove was all rusted out and gross. This needed to be replaced a long time ago and was a big turnoff!! The microwave seemed to follow suit. The couch / hide-abed could also use a good cleaning or replacement. Noise coming from the room above was a little annoying in the morning as well but we could live with that..There was a small pool by the office but we did not use it so can not comment. With a little more work (and possibly the issues were specific to this room only ??) I would rate the Inn much higher. It definitely has a lot going for it and we did enjoy our time on the Fort Myers Beach.

Room Tip: Possibly a second floor room would be quieter and you would avoid the "noise over your head&quo...

Stayed here for 3 nights with my girlfriend. I am a local and am familiar with a lot of the properties on Ft Myers Beach. The Carousel is one of the smaller places but in a great, quiet end of the beach We stayed in room 131, which is called The Cottage. It is in a small building between several other buildings in the motel. Nobody above or right next to you. Very nice room, very clean, quite large with queen size bed, 2 nice chairs, tile floor, a kitchen with all the goodies and a very small bathroom. Some folks may not be happy with the bathroom size as as it might be 5x5 with a tub/shower, toilet and sink in it but we found it to be fine for what one uses it for and quite liked the larger room. 2 deck chairs and a table outside for relaxing in and a partial view of the beach. The beach at most is 30 feet away from the room. Check in was easy, very friendly as was all the help at the motel. Slept in one morning and when I went out of the room, there were fresh towels placed on one of the deck chairs for us....very nice and appreciated. There is a pool at the front of the property but never got around to it, the beach worked fine! Right next door is the Outrigger Resort which has a tiki bar and restaurant.....highly recommend both!

Oh. did I mention it was about $100 a night......yep and right on the beach! Booked right thru the motel website. That in itself makes this one a keeper....but well worth checking out if you are looking for a quiet get away at a nice spot. Will definitely stay again!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights and we were very pleased. The room was very clean and spacious, the front office was also very clean. Employees were nice and the hotel was right on the beach. We literally walked back and forth from the beach to our room the entire stay.

We stayed @ carousel inn on the beach for 1 night. Got a room facing the gulf - what a view!!! The front desk person was very nice & gave us good info on where to eat etc. The room was OK- could definitely use some sprucing up- paint & new stove. & micro - the salt air takes its toll . Would i stay there again?- probably not - but fine for 1 night & $ was not bad. Beautiful beach- amazing sunset- cant beat the location!

Nice room with a small, kitchen, and bath. Older place but everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Window still air conditioner mounted throughout wall had to run continuously and the constant white noise was a little much. Flat screen TV was not mounted for proper viewing from bed.

You really can't beat this hotel for price and convenience. The rooms were clean and had a great little kitchenette. Lots of room to move around. Awesome location and one of the best beaches away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown bar scene, but just a trolley or taxi ride away.
