BEACHSIDE LIKE NO OTHER: At the Fort Myers dock a woman inside the visitors booth told us this restaurant had dining ON THE BEACH! Just a few feet away from the water! This restaurant is tucked away on Estero Blvd. - so keep your eyes open for the blue awning! Outside dining consists of tables on the sand right on the Gulf! IT is truly amazing & gorgeous.
BEACH BREAD: They claim it is their world famous beach bread - only offered in South Florida. It is actually a crusty highly spiced garlic bread topped with blue cheese & mozzarella cheese and diced tomatoes on top. This was very flavorful & tasty but the bread was a bit soft - it could have been cooked more - I suspect it was taken out of the oven too soon. Ask them to cook it so the top is brown!
CAJUN SHRIMP: About a half dozen good sized shrimp with a really zesty spicy cajun flavor served with a garlic mayo sauce. Again, the shrimp did not taste like it had been cooked long enough. Other than that the flavor was good!
GROUPER SANDWICH: We had it grilled - and it is a very generous portion. IT tasted fresh as it is served with lots of lettuce, tomatoes & onions! The roll is a bit too large & a bit dry. So maybe order the grouper on its own. IT was quite good though.
FRENCH FRIES: Huge & a very generous portion plus they come with a sandwich order. They are thick cut, nice & crispy, fresh & not greasy.
What a pleasure it is to sit on the beach and order lunch or dinner. A rare opportunity to experience Southwest Florida at its finest.
The servers are friendly & the food is pretty good too. They work hard to climb stairs & bring out the food to this lovely beachside setting.
I would definitely return here - it is a unique experience.
