We stayed this weekend for the Fort Myers Beach Pirate Festival. The staff are extremely nice and accommodating! The room was spotless and very comfortable. Cute beach motif and arctic air conditioning made the room very comfortable after walking around at the fest all day. Our room had a full size fridge, coffeemaker and a two burner stove with all the dishes you need. The room was not large but absolutely served our needs and then some.

We usually stay across the street but decided to try something new. Bad move. Rooms are ok, kind of cheesy for lack of a better word, semi clean at best. Got a room with a one bedroom 110.00 , separate from ''living area'' one, A/C unit in living area, problem is, window unit and when door to bedroom is shut, guess what? Hot as Heck in that bedroom, ,or youre freezing in the main room. NO ONE bar of soap, no shampoo or any toiletries for that matter, aside from toilet paper! 2 pools, minimal towels. No access to internet, b/c password was not given to us and when we called the ''front desk'' the souvenier shop was closed so, NO answser!! The shops attached to Motel are nice that's how they get ya in I suppose. When we checked out, they asked how the stay was, we voiced our issues, to which the young lady replied "oh, sorry ya had a bad experience'', it was obvious she could have cared less! Well as they say there is a rump for every seat, It just wont be our rumps again! :) For 20.00 more I could have and SHOULD HAVE just stayed where I normally do across the street . Live and learn...

Room Tip: Go see the rooms before u book it ?

I saw other good reviews on the place and decided to trust them. Good move. My room, the cheapest they had, was very small. The "living area" may have been 12 X 12 and a basic bathroom of toilet, sink and shower. It was small, but I knew I wouldn't be in the room much. The room is fine for 1 person but two would be too many in my opinion. There's only enough room to walk around the bed or go into the bathroom. But like I said, it was just a place to sleep. There was a nice pool and tiki huts to sit under. Its in the middle of everything and you can walk to anything that matters. As about the room size if you plan to spend much time in it, otherwise it was a nice find and I'm glad i picked it.

Room Tip: Ask about the size when booking

We stayed at the Shipwreck Motel June 14 thru June 16 2013. The room was delightful, just the right size and with the mini kitchen. I love the decorations in the rooms. The dock out back was beautiful and relaxing. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the gift store is huge and has a variety of merchandise at decent prices. The price of the rooms was also very reasonable. We liked it so much we are going back in a few weeks.

Very nice, clean motel on a canal in the heart of everything that is Ft Myers Beach. Short walk to shops, restaurants and bars. Breakfast across the street. All for a very reasonable price. We'll be back...

Grounds were disgusting with cigarette butts on pavers, walkways and pool deck. Black mildew in pool area with weeds growing out of pavers. Unfortunately the cancellation policy is too strict to leave once you arrive. Only spent 3 nights here yet during the entire stay not one employee picked up the trash. Guests had to clean tables before sitting at them. The rooms are adequate and dated, no frills. Sad to see as this motel has great possibilities. Upon checkout I asked the clerk of she was the manager and she said she was one of them. I explained that the grounds were not clean and no one attended to the pool or walkways during our stay, she seemed shocked and stated she had not been back there for a while so she will let someone know. I was shocked that the management did not check their grounds daily.

Just spent a week at the Shipwreck the 3rd week in March, '13, second year here. Had a nice room with a bedroom that had a door closed off form the kitchen and sitting room. The pier was right outside our door where manatees would swim by on 3 of our 7 days there. We even had the new water taxi from "Butch's Water Taxi" service come and pick us up right at our back door to head over to Parrot Key and Doc Fords. The room is kept clean, Typical Florida room for a place in this price range. The best part is you are only a short block from Times Square and the fishing pier/beach. You do not have to fight the backed up traffic heading North up Estero Blvd. Or sit in traffic for hours waiting to get over the bridge onto the island during the popular Spring Break times. Granted, this is only a few months a year, but if you have been there then you will know what I mean. If you don't want to drive, this place is it! Dave

Room Tip: Ask for one away from the street where you will hear live music from the two restaurants right acros...
