Stayed over the July 4th weekend. Clean, quiet room and friendly staff. Poolside first floor accommodation proved to be the best choice as we could walk to the beach, bar, restaurant, and pool without having to drag unncessary belongings or you could sit outside the room and hear the band play each night. Definitely would go again for the holiday as the fireworks display at Times Square could be seen from the hotel beachfront but with all the other smaller displays also being sent up at the same time, the night was truly amazing!

We rented 7 rooms to hold a 44 yr. reunion of VietNam veterans who hadn't seen one another in all those years.

We were in charge of finding a place on Fort Meyers Beach for all to stay at, and after investigating different hotels/resorts we decided on the Holiday Inn. With making these reservations 6 months in advance we were sure everything would be in order after meeting with Karla and other hotel personnel at least 3-4 times before the event.

The day everyone started to arrive from all over the U.S., rooms were not ready, little by little people were able to finally get into their rooms. Even the reservations were wrong after we checked at least 2 times prior to arrival to update the hotel.

We also from day one requested that the marquee would announce the reunion, never happened. Even after we reinterated that we would like it done on the first day we arrived, they never obliged.

Also, when visting the Tiki Bar the guests experienced alot of mixed up charges when they received their bills, which caused some problems.

No complaints on the rooms or housekeeping, just felt that the administration and front desk were not up to par for taking care of a reunion.

I have to say most of the staff is wonderful. The guys at the Pinchers bar especially Mike and Scott always took care of all the guest around the pool. The rooms are clean and well appointed with nice tile floors so you dont have to worry about coming in from the beach wet.
They have music nightly at the tiki hut so you can listen to music and dine on the deck which looks out over the beach and the gorgeous sunsets.
This is a hidden jewel. Nothing fancy, just a comfortable place to relax. Families are here so there are lots of happy children in the pool
My first trip to this area, but my second will have this hotel included in my stay. Only one day Sunday afternoon I sat at the pool for three hours without one person coming to get a drink order at all. I noticed Scott was not around.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing the pool w ocean view

hotel staff is nice- tiki bar n - (happy hour half price drinks and wings 50 cents awesome thank u amanda ) read it in the book in the room - hotel is great - away from everything - most rooms are NOT ocean view or front - so u better belly up to the bar or really luv who u are withhotel is AWAY from peir - standard hotel room - long walk to beach ( almost 1/2 mile walk) do not forget anything in the room because it is a HIKE- $22 a day for umbrella and chair - jetski $90 an hour- good for people that just want to chill and go to the beach or bar - but nothing around and LIMITED restaurant- all in all friendly staff clean rooms - just a hike and away from all-

The hotel is on a huge beach but I preferred the pool and really fun Tiki bar. They had live entertainment at night and drink prices were very reasonable and the food was AWESOME. I would highly reccommend the hotel to adults that want to have a good time or a family looking for a great value and a lot of fun.

The hotel is located directly on the beach, but it's a huge beach. It's about a 1/4 mile hike from the hotel out to the water. There is a little tiki bar in the courtyard of the hotel, but it is very expensive - $8 for a rum and coke. We traveled with another couple and both of us experienced problems with our key cards. The air conditioner in our room kicked on and off constantly (every couple of minutes) - while the temperature was okay, the constant on and off, on and off, on and off was a little annoying.

My wife ans I did a quick long weekend trip for Easter. I researched a few recommendations from a friend that lives on the island, but price was a factor so I chose Holiday Inn, fully expecting an outdated, possibly dirty property, especially being on the beach. We were so surprised to find a very nice facility! Rooms were very clean!! And much less expensive than many other the properties. The hotel is located on the south end of the island, but a Trolly is available & cheap to travel around. The beach is HUGE on that end of the island, I mean you could land a plane on it HUGE! Pinchers Crab Shack located att he property is so nice & popular, many of the surrounding condo renters come over to it. All the Sea fare you'd expect, and happy hour every day! Nice! Sure, it's not a 5 Star stuffy resort property, but you can't beat it for the price! It is within walking distance, either on the beach or across the street to a few other great restaurants too! Theres a nature area just south within walking ditance that was full of wild life, and fromt he trolly, Lovers Key State park is about 2 stops south. We walked the nature trail and saw a Giant Manteee surface in the estuary along the path. Really cool.
