this hotel is not a beach front as the photos might suggest. Beds are too soft and noisy. Our bathroom light switch did not work property; no one fixed it during our stay, continental breakfast not so continental, no eggs, limited coffee dispenser, microwave did not work properly due to low electrical capacity of outlets, only one Ice machine in hotel office, whenever manager is there only. no one from hotel management from 11:00 PM till 5:00 am. Our bathroom toilet clogged and on one was around for more than two hours. Bathroom in lobby was out of service for two days . Internet signal is poor in any room, channels are limited, not ESPN. Pool and pool area are ok. Hotel maids are great; friendly and humble. but due to the other factors we would not return to this hotel.

Room Tip: consider other hotels.

The room was clean and spacious with microwave, fridge freezer and coffee maker. The location is great - the beach is just across the road. There is a small pool and patio. A help yourself breakfast is included. Ask for a third floor ocean view room (if you're fit enough to carry up your luggage as the lift is currently out of order)

the hotel was not bad. Could not see the beach from our ocean view room. The worst part of the stay was the bed. So soft and uncomfortable. the airconditioner was a bit loud but it worked well and you just get used to the noise of it.
The girls at check in were nice and the housekeeper was wonderful.
I did enjoy the pool and how quiet it was. I would stay again.

You can walk across the street to the beach. The intracoastal inlet area, which is also across the street, is for great fishing and we caught some nice snappers there. There are a couple of nice little restaurants nearby which turns into a nightlife type area in the evenings, if you like that sort of thing. The rooms were clean and modern.

We had read about the motel’s location on their website beforehand and even pulled it up on Google Earth so we weren’t disappointed about the beach being across the way. We were on the third floor facing east so we could see the ocean and even smell the salt air at times from our small balcony.

Our kingsize bed was very comfortable and we were impressed with the new bathroom fixtures and stone counter. No problem with hot water for our showers.

We appreciated the large refrigerator to store the fruit and drinks we brought along. It was noisy however. Both of us used our iPads and had no issues with the Wi-Fi signal. We didn’t use the TV or microwave so I can’t comment about them.

Breakfast was nothing to write home about. Basically cold cereal and waffles which would probably be fine for a young family. Their oranges were delicious. Coffee is served from a large thermos - it was cold by 9:00 a.m.

When we left for a walk on the beach about 9:30 in the morning, the maid was in the hallway getting prepared to clean the rooms. We weren’t ready to have her come in yet so we put out the “do not disturb” sign. We came back about 11:00 a.m. for a short period of time and then left again, removing the sign. I was surprised to find our room had not been cleaned when we returned about 4:30. I noted also the same cockroach carcass on the stairs for two days. Neither of these are deal-breakers, but just saying…

Everything considered we would return with our renewed expectations.

Room Tip: Top floor, ocean view is best.

Spent a night there and was initially put off by the location down a side street, but that was quickly overcome. The ocean view room was on the 3rd floor and offered an oceanview a ways away. The air conditioner hasn't been replaced yet and was a bit loud when first turned on, but settled down once it ran for a minute. The room and the enitre facility was exceptionally clean. The bed was very comfortable. The fixtures appeared to have been recently replaced as the vanity tops had been also. Everything was of very high quality, brass fittings and accessories. The room had a refridgerator, microwave and a Keurig K-cup coffee maker. The new pool was very nice. If you are used to the cookie cutter type of hotel chains, you may not be happy here. But for a small privately run property, they do an excellent job. We would definitely stay there again. A very cozy comfortable and very clean inn.

Room Tip: The ocean view rooms on the third floor have been remodeled and offer the best view. They have a sm...

We stayed at the Royal Inn for almost a week as a family including an infant and a toddler. We selected the hotel as it features rooms with balconies, which is always hard to find. The balconies are very small and provide just enough space to sit on the small bench provided.

What's better than any balcony, though, is the porch equipped with tables, chair, umbrellas and a BBQ grill. Since the hotel is very small - as far as I could tell it has 16 rooms altogether: 6 sunset view and 10 ocean view - we usually had the porch for ourselves. The same applies to the pool, where we usually didn't encounter any other guests despite the fact that the hotel was sold out during our stay.

The beach is a stone's throw away, but you have to cross a fairly busy street (A1A) to get to it. The beach next to the hotel isn't the best Fort Pierce has to offer. If you want to enjoy the beaches in the area, I would highly recommend Pepper Beach which has much softer sand, cleaner water, nice facilities and even lifeguards. Be aware that the ocean view rooms also provide a view on the A1A as well as a stretch of lawn between the hotel and A1A.

The rooms are fairly small. With two double beds the room is full, i.e. there isn't an armchair or a desk because this furniture simply wouldn't fit. For our purpose the room offered all we needed, because we didn't visit Florida to work or watch TV. The fridge and microwave were very useful.

The maids are very nice, especially to the kids. I was a bit disappointed with the handling of our special requests, which the receptionists seemingly ignored until check-in. At the time of check-in they made all efforts to accommodate our request, but it was too late then.
Breakfast was ok, nothing fancy. Coffee and juice, bagels, waffles, cereals. That's about it.

Overall, I would recommend the hotel because it has a very relaxing atmosphere. However, it is probably better suited for families than party people.
