Nice property, great beach, 3 pools (waterfall, swim up bar, kiddie pool). Very clean room/grounds, refrige, micro, balcony overlooking beach. A/C was noisy but this was the only downfall.

My first job at age 16....was cleaning rooms at this Hotel. That was 30 years ago. It's always been my dream to go back...and stay there... At age 45... now a Marketing Executive...My November 26-28 Stay gave me that opportunity. Unfortunatelly the weather Did NOT cooperate... however I was determined to have a BEACH FRONT room in inclement weather. $116 plus tax etc per night. We were visiting my family in town.

The front desk (Rachel) was friendly. We watched AL/AU game in the bar ... ordered buffalo wings ...they had 'free' nacho's..... then went to our room. HM. I know this is an OLD hotel... (1970's ?) but we've stayed at Holiday Inn Destin as a comparison. The room looked old... the decor old.... the bathroom was VERY small....with no storage space in the bathroom.... EVERY room has a rectangle refrigerator and microwave...which was a PLUS....
We got a King Room .... 3026.... we had to find parking to the right of the hotel... then walk to the middle of the building to take an elevator to get to our room... The Desk in the room was nice with FREE WIFI... Very easy to access.
Of Course... we are OFF SEASON! Remember they have an AWESOME and beautiful pool area ....which we did not get to take advantage of... beautiful grounds and swim up bar.
We did have breakfast in the cafe. My omelette was HUGE.... albeit the 8 oz $2.50 grapefruit juice probably not a Great deal. HUBBY enjoyed his meal... The lobby was nice. I am not picky about bedding... I slept fine. DH found the bedding to be hard... he did not sleep well... (not unusual for him). I have stayed with much MORE luxurious bedding options...was surprised that these weren't options at Ramada.... The Bedding was very sub-standard...very easily could be updated... Amenities include shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, lotion, shower cap, soap. Coffee and coffee maker provided....
You really can't walk to much here... Not near as much as Holiday Inn Destin.
Ramada does have a great water area that we never visited... for a younger child...romantic pool for older...

I will Try Ramada again... for sentimental reasons... plus to try during peak season... however If I had to recommend a hotel for small children... I would still recommend Holiday Inn Destin. If I had to recommend a "Party Hotel"... then Ramada Inn may be your choice... so my recommendation depends on your situation.....

Mary

My husband, young kids (ages 7, 4, and and 2), and I have visited the Ramada on more than one occasion. It is a great setting for the price. It is located atop the sugar white beaches, minutes from Destin, which is hopping with things to do if that is what you are looking for. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. The grounds are kept up well. If the beach is your thing, you are right there. If it is a bit windy , the pools are sheltered fairly well, so even if the temp. is in the 60s, you still are able to enjoy the sun. At least one pool has always been heated when we have visited in March. The splash area is great, especially for toddlers and preschoolers. There are great restaurants and nightlife within walking distance. That being said, we have never been bothered by spring breakers. We have always felt safe on the grounds. Definitely family friendly, but probably wouldn't be my choice for a romantic getaway with my husband. I would and will continue to bring my family back.

My husband and I shared our honeymoon here November 1-5! I truly enjoyed myself. We pretty much had the whole "resort" to ourselves due to the time of year but we didn't mind. If you can, get a beachfront room on the third or fourth floor. The resort was peaceful and quiet and the staff was so helfpful and friendly. My only complaint would be that the grotto bar was closed (it's seasonal) and the pool surrounding it was freezing. However, there is a heated pool on the other side of the resort behind the gym that was the perfect temperature. The hot tub was a HUGE plus and the best part was we didn't have to share it with anyone! The sugar white beach was BEAUTIFUL! There's a bar right on the beach that stayed open until around sun down and the drink prices were reasonable. A couple nights we sipped wine on our beachfront balcony while listening to the ocean... so relaxing and romantic. The Garden Restaurant located inside the hotel was also nice. The service was friendly and the food was good for the price. The hotel is located right next door The Boardwalk which is home to a couple of gift shops and restaurants... worth a short walk! Also, Destin is literally 5 minutes up the road and there are lots of places to eat and shop there. We drove 30 minutes to Panama City one day of the trip and there was some good shopping there as well. All in all, I really enjoyed myself and although the Ramada isn't a big fancy hotel, it was worth the price, it was clean, and the staff took great care of us. Check it out!

First of all, congratulations to both of you! I am so happy to hear that we could provide comfort and relaxation on your honeymoon. I cannot say one bad thing about this hotel. We stayed for 4 nights over the Labor Day holiday, and had an awesome time. The extra fee to stay in a beachfront room is well worth it. We were on the 2nd floor and the view was gorgeous. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The pools were awesome and the grounds were immaculate. Can't wait to go back!

I love this hotel! From the front desk to housecleaning, the staff makes you feel right at home. I had to make several changes to my reservation prior to my arrival but the front desk staff especially manager Jennifer Talley worked with me to make sure my stay was perfect. Perfect place for families - so many activities for the children. Room was wonderful, great view, comfortable beds and I really enjoyed making coffee in my room and sipping it on the patio. You can have a great time without ever leaving your hotel; and the boardwalk next door is within walking distance. I can't wait to go back next year!

When I arrived at check-in, I decided to upgrade to a beachfront room, it was well worth the small fee. The room is a Ramada, it's a little dated, but it had everything I needed! Including a balcony overlooking the Gulf Of Mexico, perfect for enjoying that first cup of coffee.
I used the fitness center everyday, and it had a decent variety for a hotel gym. Both pools were wonderful! The beach on property was exquisite! The restaurant on the property is good, but for more variety I'd take a walk to the boardwalk, which is right next door! Plenty of good restaurants and shopping. Went to the Gulfarium (walking distance) to get a break from the beach for a bit. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay, the room was clean, staff was good, amenities were great, and the location was perfect!
