We were in town for a wedding and it was a romantic setting for a very happy visit. Loved the period details, the delicious breakfast, the chance to learn about the history of the house, and the friendliness of our hosts. My only complaint was steep stairs for carrying suitcases but Joe was kind enough to take our bags to our room for us.

Room Tip: Most period rooms had bathtubs. We wanted a shower and were able to select the appropriate room from...

This property is like a piece of heaven amidst the University town of Gainesville. The flora and fountains transported me to a tranquil place. I stayed in a cottage which offered privacy and comfort. The cottage was beautifully decorated, nicely furnished and even had a lovely Ethan Allen grandfather clock. It had a fully outfitted kitchen. This B&B is a much better value than a hotel stay! The owners are very accommodating and knowledgeable about the area.

This was our second stay at Magnolia and was as delightful as the first two years ago. It is a beautiful place with thoughtful hosts and yummy food. We were there with a number of friends and there were plenty of comfy places to hang out and chat.

Room Tip: Check out the shower and bath options.

We stayed here twice. We took advantage of summer rates which allowed us to stay in a cottage, without breakfast & with light housekeeping, for a lower rate. Then we stayed with our parents during the regular season. The cottages (Secret Garden & Jessica's Courtyard) are comfortable, homey, not-too-stuffy. My son & his gf stayed in a room in the house. The location is really a gem -- you feel very secluded and "away". The breakfasts are not as elaborate as you sometimes find at B&Bs, but were delicious. Joe & Cindy are really wonderful inn keepers.

After hearing people rave about the Magnolia for years, I was pleased to have an excuse to stay here at last. And I was not disappointed. This historic building and allied cottages were a home away from home, and a very comfortable place to stay with the family. The location is great - near downtown - and the owners are very friendly. I recommend the Magnolia Plantation b&b highly!

We stayed at the Magnolia Plantation for the 2nd time a couple of weeks ago when we moved our son into UF, and brought along another couple who were moving in their son. This place is so wonderful -- it is truly an oasis from all the chain hotels near the highway. Our friends loved it as much as we did. After long days of shopping and setting up our kids for the school year, coming back to the B&B, and the perfect Cinnamon Cottage, was just what we needed. Cindy and Joe are the consummate hosts, and of course there's their sweet collie Abbey. We can't wait to go back!!

Room Tip: Cinnamon Cottage is perfect for families or 2 couples!
