I'm not a fan of fried seafood or restaurants of that ilk, so when some friends recommended we meet at the Wharf Express for lunch, I was less than enthused. BUT, I do love seafood and was willing to give it a shot. I was surprised that when you walk in, you order at a counter and then sit down, but it was okay. One thing I noticed that got my attention was NO fish / oil smell! The food came up within about 15 minutes which gave us time to catch up with one another. We ordered the mahi finger basket, the shrimp basket, a snapper po' boy and an oyster po' boy: no one left a crumb, all the while complimenting the light batter, the crunchiness of the outside, the juiciness of the inside and the appropriately-sized portions. The sandwiches were $10 and the baskets $9. The counter service was friendly and quick and the staff visits to the table to check on us were timely and unintrusive. I'll not only be back, I took several menus to pass out to co-workers and plan to use their catering service.
