We stayed at this hotel during the Easter weekend. The room smelled of old smoke. With the badly worn and stained carpeting and furniture, it's obvious the room used to be a smoking room (this is now a non-smoking hotel). The walls are scuffed and dirty as well. The table tops were not clean. The front desk said we must have been placed in a non-renovated room. When I mentioned that I was charged the same amount to receive an undesirable room (which is the going price for newer, cleaner, & much more appealing hotels in the area), the receptionist apologized.

Room Tip: If you must stay here, ask for a newly renovated room (assuming that there really are some). There...

I stayed at the Best Western for one night on my way from Atlanta to Miami. The hotel is located on the northwest side of Gainesville. It's easy to reach, but far enough from I-75 to avoid hearing the road noise at night.
My room was large with 2 double beds, flat screen TV, and WiFi. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was average.
The breakfast area was set up just before 6:30 and had a very nice selection of fruit, cereal, waffles, breakfast sandwiches (for the microwave), yogurt and coffee. Scrambled eggs or an omelet was $3 extra.
I ate dinner in the bar/grill and had a good meal. It wasn't crowded at 8:30, and the service was good. I would stay here again.
The pool was located at the rear of the hotel, overlooked by the breakfast area. It looked very nice.
I used price line to book the room, and got it at a very nice savings. The service at check in was very nice and efficient.

Our company hosted a two day conference at this hotel March 20-21, 2012. The conference facility was perfect for us. The staff was "On Point" and came and checked on us throughout the day along with taking care of last minute requests with a smile on their faces. The room was very clean (looked like it might have been renovated recently). The bathroom and room was very clean and it was a nice surprise to see so may pillows on the bed. Our company has decided if we have anymore conferences in Gainesville this will be the hotel we will be using. GREAT JOB BEST WESTERN staff :)

Room Tip: There is a nice pool at this hotel and my room overlooked the pool and it was nice to look at.

We got this room using priceline, and it was supposed to be a 3 star. The exterior looks like a 3 star, but that's about it. It was a clean place, but the rooms were older and more like a 2 star. They have a free breakfast, but if you want eggs or an omelet you have to pay $3 extra.

Don't normally stay at Best Western hotels but this was a very pleasant surprise. Got a great corporate rate and quiet room poolside. Staff was awesome. Rooms are a little dated but clean and mattress was very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Room Tip: Rooms facing pool are quieter.

We stayed three nights here in January 2012. The hotel staff were exceptional, friendly and helpful. The deluxe room we had was well laid out and the only complaint was the AC was loud and you could not turn down the fan. Recommend. The restaurat Gators, was another story. Poor service, food was so-so.
