“Wonderful evening in the Master Suite -- great breakfast the next morning”
Reviewed 26 May 2014

With no rooms available at our usual b&b in Orange Park, my wife and I booked a room two nights ago at River Park Inn, based on TripAdvisor recommendations. So glad we did! The Master Suite is beautiful -- spacious, nicely decorated, with a small room with fainting couch separating the bath area from the bed area -- and was spotlessly clean. It's next to a generous, second story screened porch with ample seating, refrigerator with complementary refreshments, and a beautiful view of River Park and a glimpse of the Saint Johns River. Breakfast was delicious and featured ample variety to please all: waffles, eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, oatmeal, English muffins, and hash browns. Coffee is available before breakfast in carafes placed on the breakfast table. Pat, the owner, is a really nice person who makes you feel genuinely welcome from first greeting.

The only downside is that there isn't much to do in Green Cove Springs, but it's a short drive to Orange Park to the north and to St. Augustine to the south. If visiting either of those places and looking for a quiet, high-quality inn for unwinding at night, I highly recommend River Park Inn.

We are so glad you enjoyed your get away at River Park Inn and thanks for sharing. Green Cove Springs is the "county seat" and we have several very good restaurants and a rich Florida history. The location offers a slower pace and change of scenery for those times when you really need to get away. We treasure the peace and tranquility of our quiet "Old Florida" "Cove Life" here along the mighty St. Johns River but, as noted, a short drive in either direction gets you to more of a lively destination location.

We needed a place to stay for a few days while we put our boat in dry dock for the summer nearby. After eight months cruising through the US and Bahamas our first nights transition to land were wonderful, thanks to the 'just like home welcome' we received from Pat at the River Park Inn. The decor is charming and comfortable, the breakfasts outstanding and proximity to great pizza and mexican food [amongst other good restaurants]was terrific. Our only regret is that we were too busy to take advantage of relaxing on the beautiful front porch each evening. No detail that might make our stay more comfortable was overlooked. Thank you Pat for making our home coming more special than we thought possible.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the main floor room because our hours were variable.

I am so glad I insisted that my husband and I stay here. He thought it might be a little stodgy, but it was not. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and spotless. The breakfasts were delicious. There was nothing we lacked. We loved returning at the end of each of our four days to our private, beautiful place. Sitting on the porch in the evenings was delightful. The owners attend to every detail; special thanks to Pat! She is also very knowledgeable on the local history. Luther and Gloria of Tucson, Arizona

Room Tip: The Blue Room at the east end has nice daylight.

Thank you for sharing your great experience. I don't think we could be "stodgy" if we tried. We just want our guests to be comfortable here and we're so glad you both enjoyed your stay.

We have stayed at this Inn a few times now, and thought we would share our most recent stay with others that may be visiting Green Cove Springs. With 2 boys traveling with us, we wanted three things 1) Great location (river, park, trails) for an active family 2) Adjoining rooms with shared doors and 3) a great breakfast for the kids and parents. Our family got all of these along with the normal hotel stuff (wifi, cable, etc) plus a nice surprise staying on the 2nd floor with a HUGE second floor balcony. And I mean HUGE, the balcony allowed us to kick back and enjoy the view and breeze off the river while playing cards or reading books on the iPad.

The adjoining rooms allowed the kids to be themselves, and allowed the grown-ups to keep our sanity. The kids enjoyed fishing off the large dock, though we missed seeing the Manatees during this stay. We did use the park to throw around the baseball, and explored the local hot spring fed pool, river and good restaurants that were all within a 2-4 minute walk. Took lots of great photos with the Florida Spring underway.

It was very peaceful in the town, locals enjoying the park/river all very friendly. We had a great stay, beautiful weather and terrific hosts at the River Park Inn!

My fiancée and I stumbled upon river park inn almost on accident, but we are so glad we did!! BEAUTIFUL inn!! We stayed in the master suite, which was both affordable and extravagant. The owners are amazingly sweet and helpful and very knowledgable about the area. Snacks and drinks are kept available for guests, and breakfast was out of this world. The stuffed French toast made with Apple fritter bread will blow your taste buds away! We will DEFINITELY be repeat guests!!

My husband and I recently stayed at the River Park Inn and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The B&B is located across the street from a lovely park and it is caddy-corner to the original spring that the town is known for.
We had a ground floor room near the front of the house. The room had adequate space for our luggage as well as a wardrobe to hang clothes, a dresser, a vanity, and a large chair for relaxing.
A small television was included in the room as well.

The bathroom was large, filled with plenty of towels, which were changed daily.
The shower holds shampoo, body soap and conditioner in a dispenser on the wall.
The water in the shower was hot.

Pat, the owner, has many amenities that add a personal touch, from something as thoughtful as a night-lite in the bathroom.

On the first evening of our stay, we were greeted with fresh oatmeal raisin cookies when we entered the door from dinner. They were fabulous!

The second floor features a large, screened-in porch, with a refrigerator filled with complimentary water and soda.
Breakfast was served between 8:30 and 9:00. We enjoyed fruit salad, eggs, bacon one day, sausage another, toast and oatmeal with cinnamon apples. Quite a plentiful meal to begin the day.
Pat was quite pleasant and accommodating, making us feel quite welcome. I would high recommend staying at the River Park Inn if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place to stay.

We stayed at the River Park Inn for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The inn is very clean and the breakfasts were delicious and filling. Pat did a great job and was a wonderful host. The inn is located just off the water in the city's historic district. It was fun walking to the antique shops and visiting a couple of the area restaurants. We would highly recommend this B&B to any of our friends. It's a great place to stay!

Room Tip: All of the guest rooms are super clean and beautifully appointed.
