“Very Unique; Not your "Cookie Cutter" Chain”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 March 2013 via mobile

I found this place on line, and 99% of the reviews were great. Now I know why. This place built in the early 1900's has the charm of days gone by, in a sleepy little, laid back town. If you are looking for water parks and a lot of wild night life, Gulfport isn't for you. But if you want to get away from all the hustle and bustle, this IS the place, and the Peninsula Inn is the place to stay. The staff is friendly and courteous. Although the anemities are updated to today's standards, the rooms and building have still kept the original look and woodwork of its historical roots. My wife and I were very pleasantly surprised at this "Jewell" we discovered!

Everything is perfect: location, rooms, courtesy, quality, price. We have really enjoyed it, we couldn't imagine to find a so fascinating B&B in Florida. We have felt like living in a different, old fashioned and charming time.

I just returned home after a wonderful vacation! This place is so comfortable and friendly, I extended my stay 2 more days. I loved the location, lots to do! With a restaurant/bar on site and live music on weekends. I will be back!

Room Tip: I had a 1bedroom suite and loved it! Was able to have the morning sun!

We stayed in a two-room suite and spent lots of time in the restaurant and bar. The hotel is very charming and the owners and staff most accommodating. We enjoyed wine and appetizers on the wide porch and relaxing in our lovely rooms. Agree with the previous review -- the DJ in the courtyard is MUCH too loud. We moved to the porch and were fine. Also ate dinner there one night and found the food terribly rich, but there are lots of other good restaurants in town, especially the Italian one. Best bruchetta ever!

Room Tip: The suite with the rooms Marrakesh and Casablanca was very nice.

I've stayed at the peninsula Inn multiple times. The staff is very accommodating.Very old but a fresh change from the big chain hotels.a bit of advice, change the menu once in awhile. Not much veriety if staying more than 1 night. Came by year later and found the same menu.

Great for the locals.

Great Setting, Great Colonial feel, free Parking and WIFI and very friendly service...so far so good! However, pick your night and room with care! we were here on a thursday..Locals night with "Live Music" For Live read a dated local DJ hammering 80's hits, full volume in a narrow courtyard...tough if your room is right on top...you will have locals doing the Conga in to the wee small hours!...relief I suppose we are not here tomorrow...it's drag nite!!!!

This place needs to deicide whether it wants to be an all nite venue or a Colonial resort Hotel. The service goes a long way but even so!

rooms are small but nice, basic amenities!

Room Tip: Stay away from the Courtyard unless you like the Party Scene
