Gulfstream Park resurrected the old track, adding a sprawling, Mediterranean-style shopping village in front. There are plenty of options here: Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, West Elm. Several merchants moved from nearby Aventura Mall to be at Gulfstream. This is a total entertainment experience, superior in many ways to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. For one, it's closer to the water and in a much nicer part of town. There is the casino, of course, but it seems less a focus. You could easily while away a day and evening here. Parking is quite easy, even close to the anchor stores. There's also garage parking and valet as well. The Achille's Heel of all these open-air centers is rain...although it is certainly a more attractive setting than an enclosed shopping center, the rain kills everything. Gulfstream Park and its kind rarely have adequate protection from the elements. Initially I thought Gulfstream Park would be a bit of a dud, but it has proven to be very popular and is a great alternative to the behemoth and crowded Aventura Mall.

One of America's premier racetracks.Recently rebuilt with a new casino it draws the countrys best race horses, owners and jockeys. The surrounding shops and restaurants have not as yet caught on and some businesses have already left a new ones have opened. This is a magnificent place, with views and betting on 3 levels, including a beautiful restaurant and bar overlooking the track.Even if your not a horse racing fan,you should stop a least once to check this complex out.

Great shopping, a variety of restaurants to choose from. Adult and family entertainment. And the beach, always close by. Close to the Aventura Mall (a major high end shopping destination,) Ft. Lauderdale and Miami, Gulfstream Park is an attraction unto itself. Plenty of live free entertainment, stores to buy nice stuff, reasonably priced and high end restaurants, a very nice place to be as part of your vacation. Of course there are the ponies and gambling, if this is your thing. All enclosed in several hundred acres. We go there all the time and are never disappointed (Although I may have a "beef" with one of their restaurants and one of their specialty stores. We just don't go to them. :-) A very nice stay.

Came to Gulfstream as part of a 250 people group for a celebration. Good facility with tiered seating toward the stage. Bar was a bit understaffed to handle crowd. Buffet line was long, needed better set-up and crowd management. Food was tasty and plentiful.

besides the horse racing, nothing is good in this place. We drove from Kendall for a nice night out because they advertise this is the best thing since slice bread. We get there and is empty for a Sat. night. The casino is so small that if you blink you will miss it,no chance of getting lost in there.
There is a whole lot of old people playing machines, felt like an old age home on a field trip. Unless you like betting on horses there is no reason to walk in the casino. Maybe the restaurants are better but i didn't eat in them. We left and went to Hard Rock.
