“Not impressed”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 October 2013 via mobile

After years of seeing this restaurant beside a local family pizzeria, decided to drop in and try it out.

I must say I was very disappointed. First the place need to register for the show of Restaurant Impossible as it sure is a candidate. Service was much to be desired as being the only couple apart from another family there should not have been too much work for a server I had to almost beg to bring me water.

Pricing seems ridiculously high for eating from plastic cafeteria style plates. Ceviche was not fresh, some pieces still frozen. Dinner was a saute seafood mix which was almost as bad, very bland with what we thought was a Chinese style taste and cooking. The white rice was dry and seems to have been left from the lunch hour.

Overall, the appetizer, 2 main course and 2 soft drinks do not merit the almost $55 spent. We felt it was the worse meal we have wasted our money on. Unfortunately first and last time we would set foot in this local establishment.

“Great Peruvian food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 October 2011

Costa Peruana is a small family restaurant located in Miami Lakes. The food is authentic Peruvian food and they are helpful in case you don't know what
An specific plate is. You must try the Jalea and the lomo saltado, they are amazing. Their prices are good because they serve a good amount of food. Also try Jugo de Maracuya, a special juice from passion fruit.

“Neighborhood Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 September 2011

Costa Peruana is located in the middle of the Palm Springs North area of NW Miami-Dade, not on any major roads but in a small strip mall in the middle of a residential neighborhood. It has a very loyal local following and excellent Peruvian cuisine. My favorite dish is the Pescado Al Ajo (fish with garlic sauce). The menu is simple but has a variety of fish dishes, soups and salads. The staff is friendly and has been there for years as far as I can tell. Since it's not on a main road it may be a little hard to find the first time but it's well worth it.

“Decent and exactly what you expect. Not...”

Decent and exactly what you expect. Not excellent but a satisfying meal, and if you like hot (spicy) sauces, like I do, then their salsa verde (green sauce) is very good.
