“Magical Getaway”

We had so been looking forward to getting away from the hustle of Fort Lauderdale, and the ambience of the Grady House gave us just what we were looking for. Upon entry to the beautiful old house we heard the delighful classical music trickling through the parlor. We felt comfortable immediately and did what hosts Paul and Lucie told us to and made it "our house" for the weekend. As we unpacked in the serenity of the Peach Room I couldn't wait to venture out into the gardens. We spent the quiet sundown playing cards in the gazebo in the back yard while sipping our cold beers. The next morning we awoke from a wonderful sleep (on a mattress so great I wanted to steal it) to one of two memorable breakfasts. The cheddar muffins were an instant favorite of both mine and my husband. The inn is extremely close to the springs and a delightful downtown area with antique shops and restaurants. I wanted to stay forever. Paul and Lucie sure have it just right and we can't wait to go back and make it "our home" again!

Cute place, convenient to Ginnie Springs, where we came to scuba dive. BUT, if you're not a morning person, don't book the Yellow Room. downstairs. Dogs in the proprietor's portion of the house bark incessantly, there's overly loud music in the hallway (right outside your door), and the activity in the house starts promptly at 8 a.m. Not sure how this place was voted Best Bed and Breakfast in Florida -- frankly, we doubt the claim -- but the breakfast is tasty and everyone is friendly.

It isn’t the cool old house, though that is pretty nice; or the luxurious comfort of the rooms and fantastic breakfasts, though those are nice too; it’s not even the nifty gargoyle creamer. It is hosts, Paul and Lucie, who make Grady House a fabulous place to stay.

If Paul and Lucie ran a chicken coup, you’d gladly stay and never notice it was a chicken coup. As it is, Paul and Lucie run Grady House in High Springs at the hidden crossroads of Florida, where clear blue springs meet the iced tea river. Whether you’re planning a kayak trek, or a quiet walk in the woods, Grady House is a marvelous base camp that feels more like home.

Very nice and elegant. It definitely has more space than most B&Bs, and the breakfast was excellent. But don't request the "Blue" room; it's toward the front of the house. Since Grady House is located on the main road, you will hear vehicles traveling through to other destinations all night. Plus there is no air conditioning control unit for each room. The only ac temp. gauge controls all the rooms, so if you like it cold (below 74*), you will be unconfortable.

We have stayed in several B&B's and the Grady House was far above the best one of all. The accomadations were roomy, clean and provided an excellent night's sleep. The House has the most extensive garden area with winding trails, koi, water features, gazebo and a wonderful seranade of frogs in the evening. In addition, the breakfasts are to die for.........we look forward to staying at the Grady House time and time again.....Earl and Rene'

My husband and I spent two nights at the Grady House, one night in the Yellow room and the seond in the Navy room. Both were very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful . They make every effort to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. The breakfast is stupendous! The large gardens behind the home are perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine after a hard day floating down the Ichenetucknee River!!

My wife and I stayed at the Grady House for time away from our busy and hectic schedule to relax and refresh. WOW! We were not disappointed. From the very beginning at our arrival on Friday evening until we had to leave to return to our lives on Sunday morning, we were treated like invited guests with warmth, consideration, friendship and plenty of privacy. The B&B was very clean and kept in very good condition. The owners live on site which is a big plus and were very responsive. They were also very knowledgeable concerning the area for things to do and see as well as places to eat. The gardens are fantastic. On Saturday afternoon we took a bottle of wine out to the gazebo next to the waterfall and koi pond for the most relaxing time we had enjoyed in quite some time. Breakfast was very good with fresh fruit, baked goods, and main entree each morning along with excellent coffee and juice. Also High Springs is a nice quiet little town not far from Gainesville with some nice galleries and antique shops. The Grady House is only four blocks from the shops and restaurants. We highly recommend the Grady House.
