“GRADY HOUSE, EXCEPTIONAL!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2014

The Grady House Bed & Breakfast is an exceptional experience. The Peach Suite is a gorgeous walk back in time; a pleasing, refreshing bedroom, sitting room and bath. The property is well kept and features personal touches that make you smile. The front porch and parlor are wonderful. The breakfast was exceptional the morning we dined. Fruits, muffins, a variety of beverages were in advance of a generous plate of quiche, bacon and home fries. Best of all, warm and feels like home. It is interesting that this property was originally built as a bakery, later transformed into a boarding house with an added second floor, and then to its current large home status. This is a gorgeous historic 1917 fully restored period home. My wife and I give this a full five star rating based on the restored condition, the quality of the furnishings, the quality of the breakfast, the way this Bed & Breakfast looks when you see it lit up at night, and the innkeeper. Enjoy various periods of Americana and you will always be happy when the property presents well. Area towns are interesting, and the gorgeous campus of The University of Florida is only a short drive away. Thank you to Lucy who was our Innkeeper. Lucy also shared her friendly rescue Dalmations and large garden area with walkways. We have an amazing stay. The house is beautiful, and a stones throw from dinning, shopping, and adventure outposts. The breakfast is top notch, and the beds are super comfortable. The inn keepers are a treat. Explore the garden and grab a glass of wine. This is truly a place where you can relax and escape.

Beautiful place to relax, small town, clean, comfortable B and B. Lucy is an awesome cook and will make magical food for you, just let her know what you like. I hope to return with more time someday soon. I did not have enough time to enjoy the full experience.

This place was amazing! The staff was very friendly and the bed & breakfast was just what we were looking for. The back yard is the true gem of this place with it's romantic setting. It was nice to be able to walk to our dinner reservations on Main St. without having to worry about drinking and driving.

Last weekend we needed a place for some R&R together to get ready mentally for some cancer surgery to take place on Monday. We needed two days of no talk regarding Drs and treatments. So we litteraly threw a dart at the State of Florida somewhere north of West Palm beach (where we live) and guess what? High Springs was the target and we quickly found Grady House online, looked at the reviews and within 24 hours arrived at their front door. What a perfect choice it turned out to be. Lucie and Paul were so welcoming and the atmosphere at their first class inn , and the atmosphere of High Springs were perfect for our mission. Between Kayaking the Santa Fe and visiting the Springs, to a 45 min hilarious debrief with our new spiritual advisor Naked Ed on the River , to Martinis and naked Ed beers at the Great Outdoors, absurdely tasty sandwiches at True Blue Cafe, learning the Railroad history of the Town at the Museum and a trip to the Mill Creek Farm for retired horses, (all thanks to inside information from Lucie and Paul and some freindly locals), it was simply perfect! Just what the Dr ordered to get our minds refocused . You cant go wrong here. M&G

We stayed one evening in the Yellow Room after a day at Ginnie Springs - nicest place closest to the various Springs, for sure. Super comfortable bed with cozy linens too! We enjoyed the porch swing over a bottle of wine and strolling through the back gardens. Lucie and Paul make it a point that anything desired (within reason) is on hand... even a computer or iPhone charger :-) The Grady House is only a few blocks to High Springs' main street - convenient to be walking distance for dinner options and live music. Breakfast was superb. Lucie is an excellent chef! Fruit, breads, scones, bacon and a frittata of sorts... we left plenty full plus rested. I'll definitely stay again when in the area!

Room Tip: I believe the Yellow Room is their smallest; it was just fine for two of us and one night.

I stayed at The Grady House this past weekend and had the best time! Lucie and Paul show the best hospitality and make your stay at this gorgeous house unforgettable! I stayed in Skeet's Cottage along with my mother, aunt, and cousin for our second annual Mother/ Daughter trip. The house is wonderful for a family or a group of people. The rooms are a great size and the beds are very comfortable. The bathroom is adorable, especially the claw foot bathtub. I also liked having a kitchen as well because we were able to keep food and drinks for our stay. We were able to spread out within the house, which is wonderful when 4 ladies are staying together!

When we first arrived, Lucie showed us around the place and we met their lovely Grady Bunch! Their dalmations are precious and if you have time, take a minute to ask if you can meet them. Lucie then showed us to the area where she keeps fresh baked cookies, along with coffee, water, and sodas. These are accessible to all guests and it was a great afternoon treat! We also saw the sitting room, complete with excellent information about the house, and the library full of books and DVDs you can watch in your room.

Now that I have taken the time to talk about the house, I MUST tell you about the breakfast! We stayed 4 nights and had something different for breakfast every morning. Each day's meal was to die for! Lucie fixes a two course breakfast every morning. The first course consisted of fresh fruit and some kind of muffin or bread and the second course was something either sweet based or salty based. Each day was great! Oh, and Lucie asked us at the beginning of our stay about food allergies and told us she could fix it accordingly. Lucie and Paul also ask that you take the time to relax and enjoy the food and the talking after you are finished eating. We got to know several people while we were there and it was nice to just relax and have a nice breakfast. This was also a great time to ask Paul and Lucie about things to do in High Springs. They gave the best suggestions and it was just fun talking with them.

I could keep going on, but you MUST visit this bed and breakfast. I am already trying to plan a trip for my husband and I to go. I know he would love the house and hospitality! You really should take a trip and stay at The Grady House. It is located in a small town, but they have things to do there if you want to just get away and relax for a few days!
