My wife and I just returned from our first stay at the Grady House and it will not be our last. You name it and they have thought of it. The little details throughout the house made the best impression on us. From the beverages and cookies to the very nice linens and furniture the Grady house is classy with a personal touch. By the way the breakfast is absolutely terrific.

My husband and I are High Springs Residents and I have passed by The Grady House almost daily and even attended a couple of "gatherings" there. I knew the house was lovely and that Lucie and Paul were warm, delightful, hosts; but what I didn't know was what it would be like to actually spend the night and wake up to one of Lucie's breakfasts. I am so glad we had the opportunity to experience The Grady House as overnite guests. We actually stayed in Skeet's Cottage. What a wonderful little home. Extremely comfortable beds, beautifully appointed, and very clean. The gardens are a delight and Lucie's breakfast and Paul's service were exceptional. I have stayed in many bed and breakfast's across this Country and I can tell you The Grady House stands among the finest. I am grateful to have this jewel in our lovely little town of High Springs.

The owners, Lucie and Paul, quickly and delightfully met us upon our early arrival....giving us a tour and history of their beautiful and homey feeling bed and breakfast. My senses were enticed by the wonderfully clean and fresh smell throughout the whole house, the colors chosen in each room are inviting and relaxing, everthing is so clean and the decor is tastefully laid out. Then we were shown the garden area! WOW! It is massive with all types of nooks and spaces to escape your mind to....with two Koi ponds, one of which has a large waterfall cascading into a large basin surrounded by big rocks and boulders. Huge old Live Oak trees shade most of the garden area along with some very large clumps of bamboo which add such a peaceful rustling sound in the breeze. I truly enjoyed the garden area during our stay and spent time , with wine glass in hand, meandoring through the many paths and taking some time out in the gazebo that is next to the largest Koi pond. Confederate jasmine lingers in the air as it wraps and weaves its long tendrals and blossoms through the outer structure of the gazebo giving you a sense of being hidden away inside. Many special touches are all around this B&B, including thick crisp white linens, bedding, and towels, chocolates by the bedside, soft spa robes ready for use (and/or purchase), an a small pantry area with a fridge that is always stocked with water, sodas, wine and beer (FREE for the taking during your stay!!! We TRIED not to be greedy!!!) and a cakestand with chocolate chip cookies that appeared MINUTES after our arrival!!! Lucie and Paul said that they wanted it to feel like you were in your own home, or visiting grandma's house! I can assure you that we DID feel VERY at home.We sooo enjoyed the extraordinary breakfast that Lucie made fresh every morning. We couldn't WAIT to wake up and run downstairs to see what would be served!! The breakfast always started out with a sumptuous bowl of fresh seasonal fruit and/or berries with a drizzle of local honey, then several types of breakfasts breads were served by Paul while Lucie kept busy in the kitchen. The main entree of the morning was then brought out piping hot on old world china! Lucie was alerted about my egg allergy upon our arrival the day before, and I was surprised how creatively she catered around it, even though the other guests were served an entirely different entree....that showed me a lot about HOW much they care about their guests. Lucie not only created a magnificent breakfast, but was thoughtful to prepare a totally separate one for me.....THANK YOU, Lucie!!!!! The usual breakfast at a B&B (or even at most hotels, these days) is mostly uneventful, boring and blan....microwaved prepackaged foods....BLAH! But you WON'T find any of THAT at the "Grady House"!!!! Lucie and Paul will see to THAT! We couldn't have had a more relaxing and peaceful stay during our anniversary weekend. Thank you, again, to Lucie and Paul for creating such a wonderful, lovely, and inviting atmosphere at their B&B and home known as "The Grady House", and for all their kindness and hospitality.

On our way to Charleston SC from Tampa, decided to stay at this bed and breakfast for one night. It was wonderful. Offered an evening glass of wine, recommended a great restaurant just several blocks away, and had a fantastic breakfast the next day. Great accomodations, would recommend this place 100% Thanks for a great stay Lucie! We will be back in the future.

Our hosts, Paul and Lucie could not have been more gracious. I'd go there every day just for their sumptuous breakfasts, but I'm afraid the commute from Long Island to High Springs could get costly.

We were in town to visit the University of Florida, Gainsville with our son and deceided to try a B&B instead of the usual cookie cutter hotel. High Springs is only 15 minutes away and was the perfect choice. We were given a room with a seperate bed room for our son. The B&B was very close to downtown so we walked to the shops and had dinner downtown. Our host at the B&B was Lucie and she was so gracious. She made sure all arrangements were made for our University visit and showed us the local area sights since it may be our son's home for the next 4 years. In the morning she prepared a gormet breakfast that we and the other guests lingered over to savor the fabulous local flavors of the foods she had purchased at the local farmers' market.

This was our first experience with a Bed and Breakfast and couldn't have been more pleased. The Grady House is exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated, the gardens with the koi ponds are a delight and the breakfasts were scrumptious. If you're a light sleeper, I would suggest a room other than the Yellow Room which is adjacent to the owners' suite so you have them setting up breakfast right outside your door. You hear their dogs bark occasionally and there is a speaker playing music aimed right at the door. The Green and Red Rooms would be the quietest as they are located further away from the traffic noise on the busy road in front. You can see the rooms online at http://www.gradyhouse.com/ We can highly recommend a stay here.
