Since my last review we have camped at the park two more times. April and May 2014. Even during a deluge of rain the river campground dries out immediately. We hiked, we biked, boated, canoed, kayaked, geocached and had an all around wonderful time as usual. The river campground is a fantastic place to camp. We tend to stay on the entrance side (Sites up to 116). We stayed in 110 and 104 on these trips. 104 we found had issues cooling off during the day because of the lack of overhead coverage. 104 is a nice site for tent camping since it is on the small side.

Took a day trip to the park to walk the trails. They have some of the best trails in the state parks in Florida. There's plenty to do. Horse rides, wagon rides (in season), There's a swimming area at the river, kayaking and canoeing, a guided boat trip to Trapper Nelson's.
Paved biking trails as well as off-road biking. The park is very large and peaceful. The rangers are pleasant and informative.
Park entrance fee is $4.00 per single person in a vehicle or $6 for up to eight people in a vehicle.
Walkers or bicyclers riding into the park are $2.

This is a nice park to visit for a few days. Camped at the River campground with some friends
on Mothers Day weekend. Lucky to have a shady spot near trails. 5 minute walk to camp store and boat rentals. Quiet after dark was nice. No loud campers. Will be camping here again this fall.

We have camped here before and are never disappointed. Quiet campground with roomy sites. Lower numbered sites have more shade. Many things to do in the park -- kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, geocaching, pontoon ride to Trapper Nelson's, educational displays at the Kimball Center, horseback riding, and hiking. Kayak/canoe rentals available. General store near Kimball Center. Pavilions and playground. Well stocked bathrooms. Great place to reconnect with nature!

This is a cute, little park north of South Florida where you can break away from reality. Outdoor activities at Jonathan Dickinson State Park include: biking, canoeing, a scenic boat tour, kayaking and swimming.
