Nice rooms, nice service, well located with a great view. Prices are reasonable compared to other close by hotels. Not as flashy as the Westin Diplomat. We paid $129 + tax. Entrance is a bit tricky.
On the intercostal and easily accessible from I-95 highway coming either from Miami Airport or Fort Lauderdale. You can walk around the area.

I believe this hotel bills itself as a 4 star hotel, but I would rate it more as a 3 star. Upon check in, the valet--the first person you see was a very nice man, but he was absolutlely pouring sweat bending over my car. Not an ideal first impression. The self parking was adequate but a fairly unappealing parking deck on the side of the building. Service was mediocre, I asked the front desk if there was anywhere else my friend could park because there was no overnight parking for guests, and he said no. The next morning, a quick 2 second walk off the property proved that to be very incorrect.

The rooms were clean and a good size, the showers were particuarly good. The pool area was nice and the breakfast was decent in the hotel. I pricelined this hotel during a holiday weekend for an ok price. I was hoping to get the Westin Diplomat accross the street, but after hanging out there during the day I was happier with the Crown Plaza because the Westin was way over crowded. The beach is walking distance across the street. While we were there we ate at a cuban restaurant less than a mile away. For cheap booze skip the tiki bar and head to the 7/11 right next store. The room also has an ample fridge for food or any drinks and a little kitchenette area.

Stayed at the Crowne Plaza last weekend with my son and grandson as we were in to see the Braves-Marlins game. Hotel is across the street from the beach with no view but a short walk. Much seaweed on the beach and in the water, so spent more time in their infinity pool overlooking the intercoastal waterway. The pool was large, inviting, and had many palm trees around it so it felt like we were in the tropics. We did not utilize the Tiki Bar at the pool. While the room had no great view to speak of, there was a small balcony and the room was quite large and the batroom was new.. All and all a excellent hotel for the money spent

My girlfriend and I came here for her birthday. The first impression when walking through the doors was clean and professional staff along with a nice atmosphere. Walking into the room... very nicely lit clean bed and bathroom with a balcony kitchen and microwave which I believe is standard. Only complaint was the out side of the refrigerator looked like a pop exploded all over it. The pool is awesome plenty of seating well maintained and a great tropical atmosphere, accompanied with a large hot tub. Over looks the river, nice views of large yachts and the draw bridge is cool to see for a first time. Also a water taxi pick up spot which is great. Drinks and food are over priced at the tiki bar but it is a hotel so I would eat and drink else ware. It's a crossed the street from the beach ( which has a private walkway for the crown plaza directly across from the hotel)
"Summary" Pros. nice hotel guaranteed balcony awesome pool friendly and fast acting staff and it's 30 minutes from Miami and 20 from ft lauderdale.
"Cons" not on the beach (but only 5 min walk) and drinks and food at tiki bar not worth the money.

This hotel is not really a beach hotel because the beach is a block away and you can't see it, but the beautiful pool makes this more than good. The rooms are very nice and very spacious. Staff is friendly and hospitable. The only downside is the expensieve parking, $17 self and $19 valet parking per night.

After a two week trip with my girlfriend to the Ft. Lauderdale area and the Keys, we had to book a room for the night before our return flight when the Hard Rock, where we had been staying, was sold out.

It was Memorial Day weekend and we took a "surprise deal" from Hotwire showing a 4-Star on Hollywood Beach for only $110 per night. We took it and we're rewarded the Crown Plaza Hollywood.

The hotel is not on the beach, but about two blocks away, across the street on the Intercoastal waterway. From what I could tell, any good views were blocked by surrounding
high rise condos and hotels? Self-parking is $17 per day or $8 for hotel's guest's guest. However, better to just pay it and not gripe about it. That's the norm in this area. No way around it if you want to stay in a prime location near the beach.

From outside appearances, the hotel is rather a bland and boxy 1970s style Holiday Inn type of building with exterior room balconies. The lobby and interior is clean, modern, and contemporary style.

Room was nice, but nothing special. Clean and with slightly higher end furniture than a lower star hotel, granite or marble countertops, a mini-kitchen, Walk-in shower, and large flat screen TV. Carpets were showing a little wear and tear, but nothing terrible.

Personally, I wouldn't call it a 4-Star, but it was a solid 3.5. Comparable to your run of the mill Wyndham, Marriott, or Holiday Inn hotel aimed at business travelers. Acceptable, but not elegant. I could stay here for business comfortably, but for couples, you might be better off finding somewhere else for a more romantic stay?

The location is great! It's about a mile from the Hollywood Boardwalk. You can take a leisurely walk of about 20 minutes -quicker for those accustomed to walking- to avoid the headache of finding parking at the beach! You can also hop on the Hollywood Beach trolley that stops in front of the hotel. For $1 you can ride it up to the Boardwalk area. It runs every 45 minutes during the day throughout evening.

As mentioned, there aren't really good views from this hotel, but for the best views down the Boulevard or Inter-coastal, get a room on the north side of the building. Intercoastal views are best on the NW side. Those on the south side overlook a 7-11, hotel parking lot, and busy intersection and on-ramp to bridge.

Overall, our quick stay was good. Although I anticipated a true 4-Star, I can't complain for the price we got! I would stay again for a short stay if being close to the beach was important to me.

Great room, great staff, perfect location, not so much traffic, good beach, great pool area. Parking price and the breakfast was a little expensive. If you do not want accommodation in Miami downtown or south beach, I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Self parking price 16usd
