“Surprised about the tip charge.”

Our family chose to eat at this restaurant because of the Pizza/Drink special for $13.99. The pizza was fine and the price was good. The surprise came after the waitress took my credit card. Our check was about $25; however, when she came back with my ticket to be signed, the charge to my card was a little less than $30. When I questioned the difference, the waitress told me they automatically charge a 15% tip to the final bill. I wonder how many people do not catch this "gimmick" and wind up tipping again. I was disappointed this was not advertised. I am use to automatic tip on parties of 8 and up; however, we were a party of 4.

This is the first review that I've ever given a "one" rating, but I feel our experience justifies this rating. First of all, I should have picked up on the fact that most tables had pizza on them that this wasn't a real Greek restaurant. But we were really in the mood for some Greek food, so my wife and I ordered the chicken breast platter.

Let me say it is very sad when our tomatoes were thicker than the chicken breast. They literally took a chicken breast, and cut it in half (long way), so it appeared to be two small chicken breasts. The platter didn't even come with fries ($4 extra), and the Greek salad was some iceberg lettuce with one olive, cheese and pieces of foamy tomatoes. I have never had a platter at a greek restaurant come without fries, and for $14.99, we left very disappointed and still hungry.

Its sad that this restaurant is taking advantage of all those passing by on the beach boardwalk, and expecting some decent Greek food. Do yourself a favor, and journey a little up the road to Opa, or if you do decide to try Sahara's, have a pizza or burger..

We were suckered into this restaurant by the servers "selling" us to come and sit down as we walked by looking for lunch. I don't know why, but I gave in. Big mistake. The pizza "special" that was 13.99 plus a pitcher of sprite ended up being a pitcher of sprite with several napkins full of grease and what seemed to be fake cheese. My stomach hurt for a day afterwards. Please avoid.

Sorry but caught the cook clipping his nails at the counter and will never return! Food is ok and prices are cheap.
